Success follows opportunity. The School for Advanced Studies (SAS) at San Pedro High School offers high-level academic services and support to meet the unique educational needs of gifted learners. The SAS program is a community of like-minded students and teachers who inspire and support each other. The SAS program provides a traditional college prep course of study, with multiple pathways for students to choose from on their road to college. Learning is anchored in exploration, analysis, discovery, critical thinking, self-reflection, and global citizenship. Our curriculum, with 23 Advanced Placement (AP) courses and access to free on-site college classes from LA Harbor City College (LAHCC), is designed to high academic standards: challenging, rigorous, and comprehensive. Student learning and experiences extend outside the classroom to our school campus, the city of San Pedro and beyond through participation in programs affiliated with universities, museums, and technology and science institutions.

Our SAS faculty is comprised of highly qualified, experienced, and dedicated educators committed to equipping their students with the skills necessary to be successful in college and in life. A dedicated counseling staff, inclusive of academic counselors and school-wide college and career counselors, provides regular individualized advisement, academic reinforcement, and college and financial aid support.

Successful futures begin at the School for Advanced Studies at San Pedro High School!
