Title of your artwork:
“Ice Out”

What social/political issue were you focused on?
I focused on how ice keeps on tearing apart our community, but through all the chaos we still shine through.

Why did you choose this issue? What made it important for you?
I chose this issue because ICE is really terrible for our community, our friends. so many familys are being torn apart and it's terrible. It's very important, because it's one of our core issues happening today in our society.

What are you most proud of when you look at the artwork? What went well?
I’m most proud of the textures and how everything overlaps. The rough shapes and patterns make the artwork feel busy and represents everyone's way of shining through!

Is there anything you could have done to improve any of your work? Explain.
I could have made some parts clearer because it’s a little hard to tell what everything is. Adding more detail or cleaner shapes would help people understand it better.

How did you use contrast to bring your viewer’s attention to the image?
My print used contrast by using dark purple ink against the white background. You can see this in the darker middle area where most of the shapes are, and the lighter empty space around it. This makes your eyes go to the center first.
