Some traditional foods are Latkes which are potato pancakes, brisket, jelly filled donuts and kugel. Kugel, which can be sweet or savory, dairy or pareve, is a casserole composed of noodles. Some activities you can do during Hanukkah is play dreidel, make traditional foods, or practice writing Hebrew letters.
A pivotal tradition during Hanukkah is lighting the nine-branched menorah to represent miracles. Another tradition, is purchasing chocolate coins, or gelt. During the Hanukkah celebration, the chocolate coins are often distributed to the children for them to eat. Also, there is gift exchanging as well. Gifts represent the action of giving or receiving them.
