Sarah was born and raised in New York, moving to Vermont in 2020 to pursue a career in education; experiencing the state’s education system first-hand spurred her onto the teaching path. While currently specializing in English for 7th through 12th grade, they would love to be able to teach world history for 5th and 6th grade as well. They feel as if their credentials, overall academic achievements, and desire to teach would make this possible.
Although she has come to love Vermont, Sarah would like to return to New York and take up a position in New York City at a public high school. It is here, she feels, that would best fit her own hopes and goals as a professional educator.
Over the years, she has spent time writing poetry and fiction pieces, and has submitted multiple to literary magazines in both New York and Vermont. However, she enjoys reading just as much as writing and you can often find her hidden somewhere with a story. On top of their own personal goals, Sarah hopes to be able to share a love of literature with their students; she hopes to give her students the opportunity and skills to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
