Lafourche Early Childhood Network
The Lafourche Early Childhood Network is comprised of a group of Early Learning Centers, Head Start Centers, and Public School Pre K. We currently have 9 Early Learning Centers, 7 Head Start Sites, and 12 Public Schools in our Network that are serving the Early Childhood Community. A list of these sites, links to websites, and contact numbers have been provided below. Lafourche Parish Public Pre K
The Lafourche Parish Pre K Program is a part of the Lafourche Early Childhood Network. Our program services Pre K children who are 4 or will be 4 on or before September 30 of the current year. The Public School Pre K Program is currently funded completely through federal grants; Title I, LA 4, and 8 (g). Our program is designed to provide developmentally appropriate learning experiences for all young children by using a Tier I curriculum to develop each child's physical, social emotional and intellectual abilities.
Our Pre K Program includes 12 school sites across the district with 31 classrooms. Each classroom serves a maximum of 20 students with both a Certified Pre K Teacher and a Paraprofessional in each.
Our Pre K students are having such fun with the STEAM projects- creating friendship bracelets, building chairs and homes for their pets, and programming a robot!
