Play the best music game so far: Friday Night Funkin

By :Josh Onyeise

Have you ever heard of this music game called Friday Night Funkin? You should play it. Friday Night Funkin is a karaoke music game where you play as a boy named Boyfriend to battle your opponent through playing karaoke music. Weeks are important in the game. Unlocking more weeks in the game will make you better. The more weeks you go through, the harder the levels get. Playing the game is easy. Using the arrow keys or using WASD is easy, you just have to match the arrows on the top. Once starting the game, try simple karaoke music so that the arrows can go up slow, so you can match those arrow keys easily. Once you're done with doing more simple karaoke music. Once you're ready, start doing intermediate music. Basically do music songs that the arrows will go up at a fast and slow pace. This means that you are unlocking weeks. There is also B-SIDE music which is pretty hard but fun to play. If you practice more on other music, you'll be able to be good at the B-SIDE songs. Some B-SIDE songs have the arrows go up really fast so make sure to take your time and match the arrows. In Friday Night Funkin, you are only playing against an opponent, not a friend. If you want to go against a friend, play Basically FNF on Roblox where you can go against your friend and at the end, you’ll see who has the highest score. This game is very fun and really energetic to play, try it out. Friday Night Funkin is the best karaoke music game out there right now.

Roses are Red, Violets Are Blue, It’s Poetry Day, So Let’s Celebrate!

By A Bad Poet: Tashina Bond

We all probably wrote a poem as a school assignment. Some of us are not the best at writing poems (Especially this writer, it took her 20+ minutes to think of this headline lol). Now poems have an official day where people go out and read their poems out loud to other people. Let’s hope nobody will be left hanging, it’ll be a knife to have somebody to share their love for poems so they won’t snap (they probably won’t snap). This kinda reminds me of a “cute” game people know (Doki Doki Literature Club...Just Monika).

Umm...what?:

WPD is a day to honor poets, by reviving oral traditions of poetry rituals, promoting the writing, etc. you can think of it like a youtube or any type of ad. The poet will both get promotion & recognition (unless if you skipped it). This day is celebrated on March 21. This became official by UNESCO who saw the unique ability to catch the spirit of a human mind.

Bit of history:

UNESCO first adopted March 21st as their child during their 30th general conference in Paris 1999, with their intention of supporting linguistic diversity by poetic expression and increasing the opportunity for endangered languages to be heard. Let’s hope they’ll both have a healthy relationship forever.

How do I celebrate?:

Well, a couple of ways you can celebrate is by making poems (duh it is poetry day XD), read poems, share poems, etc. Or, if you’re a gamer like this writer, you could play some related video games that are related to poetry, Like Doki Doki Literature Club! It’s a physiological horror game that has poems you can read. 1 Example will be listed after the Resources,

There’s a lot of things that we can do to celebrate one of the most creative days of the world. What's your favorite poem? Remember, Just Monika.

Monkeys can climb

Crickets can leap

Owls can seek

Cheetahs can run

Eagles can fly

People can try

But that’s about it.

El Dia De Los Reyes Magos & El Dia De La Candelaria

By Natalie Rodriguez

The event that has another event connected to it is El Dia de los Reyes Magos. The event El Dia de los Reyes Magos is celebrated every year on January 6th. Los Reyes Magos are known for taking gifts to baby Jesus, the tradition says that los Reyes Magos take gifts to children every year on January 6th. It can be anything, it can be a blacket, a toy, food, and more. La Rosca is a type of bread that you cut on El dia de los Reyes Magos which contains little babies (which represent baby Jesus), if you end up with a baby, you get the privilege of making tamales on February 2nd which is another event celebrated with hispanic culture. Everyone makes their bread (la rosca) a different way with a different amount of babies and colors. El Dia de la Candelaria is celebrated on February 2nd. El Dia de la Candelaria is connected to El Dia de los Reyes Magos, like I said before if you got the baby today is the day to make the tamales. If you are unsure what “Candelaria” means or is referring to here is what it is referring to, it is referring to a cathlic feast of the Purification of the Virgin. It is also celebrated with a festival, not in all places but in some they make a big festival. At the festival they serve food like the tamales, champurrado, and atole. Everyone gathers around to eat and celebrate. When you get the baby it comes as a surprise to everyone, sometimes no one really wants to get the baby so they don’t end up having to make the tamales on this day. These two days are supposed to have everyone come together and celebrate.

These two events are highly celebrated in the hispanic culture. I hope you found them interesting and enjoyed this article.

Recently, There has been a musical people found on the Internet-based on Ratatouille that will be shown online after thousands of Tiktokers (Yes, Tiktokers) posted their songs, dances, set designs, and puppets on the app.

This all started when A New York Teacher, Emily Jacobsen, made a post about Remy, A rat who becomes a chef in the film. Like Mother, Like Sons

By: Yoselyn Reyes Barrera

Are you a mama’s boy? Do you look up to your mother? Well if you don’t maybe this article will change your mind and maybe it won't. Everyone has their own back story on why they do or don’t look up to their mother. Well if you can’t tell by the title this article is about how three men looked up to their mothers. They were shaped by their mothers.

Most people would judge MLK saying that everything he did just happened. That he was just formed differently and was brought to this world to change it. But no that’s not why he did what he did. It has been shown that most men tend to look up to their mothers more than their fathers. Berdis Jones Bladwin never knew about his father. He grew up in an abusive household because of a man his mother married. Louise Langdon had both a mother and father in his household. Both of his parents were an organizer for Garvey. But his father Earl Little, died in a streetcar accident so he just had his mother and his other seven siblings left. Alberta Williams King also had both his mother and father. They both were pastors. King jr. followed their steps and joined them and became a pastor. Then his mother started her career as a teacher but then she married his father so she couldn’t be a teacher anymore so she devoted herself to the church. But then King was assassinated.

If you haven’t noticed Berdis Jones, Louise Langdon, and Alberta Williams all were fatherless in their households. As to be expected the mothers were strong enough and took responsibility for themselves and their children. Being a single mother is not easy and truth to be told It takes a lot of time and patience.

Are The Interests Of Teenage Girls Not Taken Seriously?

By: Araceli Meza Cruz

Are teenage girls allowed to like things? A lot of people's answer to this question would be "of course teenage girls are allowed to like things", but yet when something becomes popular amongst teenage girls it's automatically deemed as lesser than or uncool.

In late 2019 there was a phenomenon on tik tok of teenage girls also known as "VSCO" girls trying to have a positive effect on the world by using reusable metal water bottles and metal straws. These girls were just trying to have a positive impact on the world by using reusable items, but people still found a way to bully them out of existence by mocking their use of internet lingo.

This is a huge problem in our society because it helps push a toxic narrative that women's accomplishments and interests do not matter.

Not everything that is popular with teenage girls is for a good cause, but this just goes to show that even when teenage girls try to do something that will be good for humankind they will still be made fun of and mocked. In order to get rid of this toxic sexist narrative that everything teenage girls like is bad, people will have to start questioning themselves on whether they think something is genuinely dumb, or because it's trendy with teen girls.

Telling teenage girls that their interest are dumb and unimportant doesn't just harm teen girls but women as a whole. When judging something that is popular amongst teenage girls don't just automatically assume that said interest is meaningless but take a deeper dive and maybe ask teen girls why that thing is so popular in the teen girl community.

Fun things to do in College!

By: Araceli Meza Cruz

The thought of going to college seems really boring but here are some fun things you can do at College. This list will help you have the best College experience.

Things to do at College

Cafeteria food🍔🍟

Colleges require a lot of walking and sometimes all that walking can make you hungry. Trying out the cafeteria food is a must.

With so many options it can become difficult to decide so asking a student what they recommend can be a fun decision.

Library📚

Colleges have some of the nicest libraries a bookworm could only dream of. Checking out the Libraries at Colleges is always such a fun adventure because College libraries have books of every genre and books filled with knowledge.

Gym🏋️

At almost every College you go to there nice and hip gyms. The students at the gym are very kept to themselves so you don't have to worry about someone staring at you while working out. These gyms have very good air conditioning making them the perfect place to work out.

Cafes

Most College students have a caffeine addiction due to how overworked they are so it won't be hard finding a nearby café. Cafes are relaxing and a cool place to hang out with friends. All that walking can become exhausting so going to a cafe can become a nice place to rest.

The most important thing to remember while visiting a college campus is to have fun because you probably will not have fun when you actually become a college student. During the visit be mindful of the fact that students are busy learning and studying so try to not be disruptive.

Reading is Fun, But It's Just Begun!

By Jesse Contreras

Have you ever heard of a man named Dr. Seuss? Well, he was a well-known author who wrote a lot of children’s books. During his birthday week we celebrate something called Read Across America. This is just a week where we do wacky things like where crazy shoes and socks or put on our craziest hair style. Another part of Read Across America is reading books and having a good time reading to yourself, friends and family. People of all ages enjoy participating in Read Across America Week.

The purpose of Read Across America is to get into reading and being able to have a good time reading. Some ways to get into reading are reading to your little cousins or friends or you can just read to yourself. Another way to get into reading is by focusing on the book and just shutting out the world when you read. The last way to get into reading is by listening and probably reading something that you are interested in, and not something that you would be bored reading. Read Across America is a good way for kids to get into reading because a lot of Dr Seuss books are fun and colorful. Did I mention they have a lot of wacky rhymes as well?

Here are some benefits of reading:

Increase in memory, focus, and concentration

Expands your vocabulary

Relieves stress

Increase knowledge and writing skills

Expands your creativity and imagination

Reading might not be your favorite thing to do, but once you have opened a book and started reading you won’t stop. Reading can have very big benefits towards us like the fact that it can help you focus more. What type of book have you read for Read Across America?

Your Homework for Spring Break- Read

This Article Then Write A Summary!

By: Tashina Bond

Spring break... two weeks where you chill, probably not having to worry about doing any assignments unless some teacher assigns a spring packet which some or most people won’t do. But as tempting as it may be to play video games like League Of Legends or Among Us, some type of school work wouldn’t hurt.

Turn in missing assignments:

Turning in missing assignments can give you points that you should’ve given for the work. Doing this might bring one of your grades and skill a level up so you won’t fail the class. Another good thing is there’s no due date because you’ve already successfully failed the mission so you can take as long as you want c: (It’s better if you get it over with though).

Extra credit:

Credit is similar to turning in your missing assignment. Extra credit is not mandatory. It’s your choice on if you wanna do it or not. If you do the extra credit you’ll have a higher percentage or up a grade higher than you were at before. One difference is it’s only available for a period of time. So once the time you have is over, it’ll expire like a food coupon or a Thanos snap (Mr.Stark...I don’t feel so good).

Do your work before!:

The best way to not do anywork for 2 weeks is to do all of it before it has even begun. You wouldn’t have to worry about any assignments because you’ve already completed the mission! You can laugh at the teachers because you beat them at the 1v1 game of completing your assignments (okay maybe don’t laugh at them). Enjoy the next 2 weeks watching netflix, listening to Corpse Husband’s song “E Girls Are Ruining my life” or whatever you want!

Even though doing work is not the best (especially if you’re on vacation), it’s still better than doing nothing and being bored throughout the break. What’s do you plan on doing over spring break?

Humans on Mars?

By: Jesse Contreras

Have you ever wondered what its like to actually be on the planet mars? Well if you have then you are in luck because NASA has announced that there Perseverance rover has just successfully landed on mars. This rover came with a drone that can be used to scope out the planet quicker and more efficiently than the rover because the rover covers only what is around it at a slow pace but the drone can cover a lot of area faster.

The rover took about 7 months to get all the way to mars from earth. The rover will be on mars for about 2 years searching for microbial life. This will have a huge impact on everyone because it was sent to see if living organisms are able to survive and this can benefit earth and our future. The rover is about the size of a car and has 6 wheels. The drone or helicopter is solar powered which makes it better to rome around the planet. This can be really really helpful for NASA to be able to see larger areas but the rover will be better to see the ground and minerals that are on the planet.

As you can see this will be beneficial towards NASA and towards earth in general because the rover was sent there to pretty much figure out if mars is able to sustain life.

Oprah with Meghan and Harry Interview Break Down

By: Araceli Meza Cruz

Are the British Royal Family racist?

Oprah Winfrey, one of the most well-respected interviewers in the USA interviewed Meghan Markle the Duchess Of Sussex, and Prince Harry the Duke of Sussex. Oprah interviewed Meghan and Harry on March 7, 2021, to find out what caused them to separate from the British royal family. The interview is said to take place in Oprah’s home not very far away from the wedded pairs own home.

Oprah starts off the interview by saying that there has been no agreement prior to the interview, and that Meghan doesn't know what she's about to ask, nor is she getting paid for this interview. Meghan talks about her famous wedding that was aired on Television not being at all like what it looked like on Television. Meghan goes on to say that all the times she was on camera smiling she was actually having a very hard time mentally. Meghan was having a very hard time because the British media was always on her back trying to portray her as some kind of Villain to the royal family. Meghan goes on to say that the members of the royal family had special protection from the British media, but she didn’t have that same kind of protection against the British media, so they were allowed to attack her left and right with cruel articles trying to defame her. These cruel articles were really taking a toll on Megan's mental state. Meghan Markle also stated that the royals had a discussion about how dark their son would be when he was born. At this point Oprah was shocked by what Meghan had confessed. Harry eventually is shown and confirms that this conversation did in fact happen. None of the British royal family have come forward to confirm or deny this conversation. Meghan Markle also reveals that during her time at Buckingham Palace in London she started to feel suicidal because of all the mean tabloids written about her and how even when she asked for help from the institution that runs the British royal family, she received no help. These events caused the couple to move to Canada where they still had bodyguards provided by the institution. When Covid-19 lockdowns were about to start taking place the institution told the couple they were no longer going to be able to provide bodyguards for the couple. This was very bad news for the couple because they could get targeted by news outlets. Meghan and Harry moved to L.A. before the lockdowns started and lived with Tyler Perry for 3 months before they decided to buy their own home. Oprah’s interview also gave us an inside look of Meghan and Harry’s daily life by showing us, the viewers, how they take care of their chickens.

Oprah gave us a new meme of her saying “Were you silent or were you silenced!” with matching hand gestures that showed the difference between being silent or silenced. Prince William of the British royal family has recently been asked by a reporter if his family was racist, and he responded by saying “We are very much not a racist family”. This statement doesn’t mean that the conversation regarding how dark Meghan and Harry’s son's skin color would be never happened. Although the royal family may not be racist they can still be colorist this would not come as a surprise considering the British royal family’s long history with colorism.

This interview gave us a perspective of what it would be like to be part of a royal family and showed us that even though people think of being royal as some kind of happy fairy tale it can actually be a nightmare in disguise.

Things to look out for when online shopping- Dangers of Resellers

By: Araceli Meza Cruz

1. Positive vs. Negative Reviews

When buying items online it’s important to check reviews to see if the reviews are positive or negative. Checking the reviews can save you lots of hardships.

2. Sketchy Reviews

Checking whether a product has positive or negative reviews might not always be helpful. Another way to avoid getting scammed is to check if the reviews have similar usernames or if the reviews are overwhelmingly positive and have similar reviews.

3. Are they known for being a good seller?

Online shopping sites tend to have a page that you can click on that has a list of the previous things that the seller has sold. When looking at the things the seller has previously sold it’s important to look at the reviews and will help you have a good idea of what kind of quality the product will be.

4. Tricky resellers

One of the most important rules during online shopping is to be aware of the resellers that will charge you for way more than it's worth. Lately, there have been shops that promote themselves on TikTok- a lot of these stores buy in bulk from places like wish, SHEIN, and AliExpress.

Hopefully this list can help you in becoming a better online shopper that can see through the scams. I've never been a bad online shopper because I have these tips, but I hope these tips can help you just as much as they helped me.

Mentor-Mentee?

What does that mean? What do you do?

By: Macie Bautista

The Mentor-Mentee Program

The Mentor-Mentee Program is to help the students in need of it or want and seek out the help of their own peers to get a higher academic grade. This is a helper for subjects you struggle with and need a little more help with. This program isn't for the “stupid kids” it's for everyone not letting that get to you, it doesnt mean your dumb you just need help.

What it means to be in Mentor-Mentee

What it means to be in the program as a…

Mentor : It means you were chosen to get a mentee to help exceed in their classes hoping and helping those in need of the help.

Mentee : Is to accept or decline the help given to you in the program if you accept the mentor will come to you and help you in any area that they see you struggling in. If you decline you can leave the program.

The Benefits

Some of the benefits that the program offers are that some people by the end of the grading period end up with more A’s than what they started off with. Those people started off as F and D students to only exceed with the help given to them. I saw great improvements when looking at the Mentees grades; they started off terrible only to grow and understand the concepts.

To this topic we understand what it is to be a mentor or a mentee, the benefits, and what it's about. This shows us so much information about everything so we have a better understanding of everything. To this we end today's blog with a question, Would you benefit from being in this program?

What Is A Wolf Moon?

By: Monaza Sayame

Have you ever heard of a Wolf Moon before? Well If you haven’t let me tell you about it….

A Wolf Moon is a Moon named by the early Native Americans. The name comes from the local wolves that would howl at the moon. To see the wolf moon and it’s beauty you will need clear skies. The first full moon of the year will light up the night sky on Thursday, January 28, 2021. But you won't have to wait until the middle of the night to see it. The full "Wolf Moon" moon reaches peak illumination in the afternoon. “In January, it's often called the "wolf moon," supposedly inspired by hungry wolves that howled outside of villages long ago, according to the Old Farmer's Almanac”, CNN Ashley Strickland wrote. “Some tribes have described it as the "cold moon" or the "hard moon," but not the wolf moon, according to a list of full moon names attributed to 29 tribes at the Western Washington University Planetarium website.” Did you ever see the “Wolf Moon” rise by any chance? How was it? It’s said to be one of nature’s most spectacular sights. The sky turns a pale yellow color before becoming a bright, white orb we normally associate with a full Moon. The next time you ever see Wolf moon and wonder why it is so colorful, just know that the science is the same as for sunrises and sunsets. As you look straight across to the horizon you’re looking through the largest amount of Earth’s atmosphere, and also through its thickest part.

I may not be your Valentine, but my gift for you is a choco-LOT of this SWEET Information.

By: Tashina Bond

Ah yes. A day where people celebrate romantic love, friendship, and admiration. Every year on February 14th, people celebrate by sending messages of love and affection to friends, family, or significant others. Some people also confess their love on Feb 14 by giving chocolates, flowers, etc. If you don’t have someone to spend Valentine's Day with, you can always buy some chocolate (or ice cream), and watch some Netflix. OrRrRr maybe, you can read this and see how Valentine's Day became a holiday.

History of Valentine's Day:

There was a boy called Saint Valentine. Saint Valentine was a clergyman (priest) and a 3rd Century Roman saint. A Catholic church had three different saints that were named “Valentinus, Valentine” who all were martyred (Martyr is someone who suffers persecution and death because of their beliefs or religion).

When Emperor Claudius II decided that men that are single made better soldiers than men with wife/wives and families, he outlawed marriage for younger men. Valentine went against Cladius and continued to perform marriages

for lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Cladius ordered that he should be put to death.

There are multiple valentines like one Valentine of Terni (bishop) who people claimed was the true namesake for this holiday. This man named Valentine was also beheaded by Claudius outside of Rome.

Other stories suggest that he had been killed for attempting to help Christians escape harsh Roman prisons, where Christians were beaten and tortured.

In one of the legends, an imprisoned Valentine sent the very first “Valentine” (lol) greeting to a girl (who visited him during his confinement). He fell in love with her. Before his death, it’s believed that he wrote her a letter signed “From Your Valentine.” (wow a pun..kinda) An expression that’s still used today (like what you saw from the headline).

Wow that’s a lot of information. That’s the story of St. Valentine and how Valentine's day became a thing. Do you have a Valentine?

I'm sure everyone has heard about Black History Month, if not, here are some things you should know about it, the history and why it’s important.

Black History Month is celebrated the entire month of February. It is a celebration of African Americans in our history that are influential and have made an impact on it. Another way of saying Black History Month is African American History Month. Some people that are important during Black History Month are Rosa Parks, Carter G. Woodson, Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, Mary Seacole, along with many other influential people. Black History Month first started in 1926. In the United States and Canada, Black History Month is celebrated in February, although in Ireland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, Black History Month is celebrated in October. Black History Month is celebrated in February because Abraham Lincoln’s birthday is February 12 and Frederick Douglass’s birthday is February 20th- both dates have been celebrated by black communities since the late 19th century. What Rosa Parks did to make a change in history is that she did not give up her seat to a white man when riding the bus because of her race in 1955 on her way to the Montgomery Bus Boycott. She was taken to jail and had to pay a fine because back then you had to give up your seat by law in Montgomery. She inspired a lot of people by standing up and respecting her race. What Harriet Tubman did to make a change in history was being a slave and escaping, she helped others gain their freedom. She inspired a lot of people by helping people, each day that she helped people get out of slavery she inspired others. What Martin Luther King did to make a change in history is that he led a civil rights movement, he changed the lives of African Americans and others. He inspired many people by making a speech and not judging people based on their skin color. Many more people did something that changed the world.

With Your Host Tashina! Hurrayyy Now Sit on the Pandemic Coaster and let’s Get Rolling!

By Tashina Bond

Are you tired of sitting in your home bored with nothing to do? I feel you. Since 2019, we have done nothing but sit at our homes, go to online school, eat, and whatever else you do in your free time. Maybe you want to go somewhere fun? Well, some amusement parks are reopening now that the virus has gone down since the vaccine was released. Here are some amusement parks that might reopen. (Also some that will stay closed)

DisneyLand/World:

Since the start of 2021, there’s been A LOT more stories about DisneyLand/World reopening. Disneyworld is already open with all 4 of their theme parks and have plans to reopen their water parks by March 2021. But, Disneyland is gonna stay closed and will open at a later date depending on state and local government approvals.

Legoland:

Okay, the amusement park is still closed. It’ll probably stay closed for a while...depending on the state, government and their approvals. I predict it’ll probably reopen from late spring to early fall. (Again, really depending on how much people are staying inside or anything else that can affect the virus poorly.)

Universal Studio:

Universal Studio and Islands of Adventure are currently open (Including Universal Resorts) for people to enjoy! The only thing that’s closed in the Universal Studio is the Volcano Bay. Also in Universal Orlando, they already reopened the Amusement Park and their Hotel Resort on June 3rd 2020 only after 80+ days of closure due to the virus.

SeaWorld:

It’s actually about to be open. It’s SUPER CLOSE actually. Probably by the time you’re reading this, it’s already reopened. “San diego Seaworld will reopen on February 6th, 2021 and operate in compliance with the state safety guidelines for zoos.” YaYyyYy I can’t wait to SEA what they have for us!

Well There you have it. Four amusement parks that are planning to reopen for this year for people to enjoy in California. Are you planning on visiting one of them soon?

Fun Fact

Did you know Hugs could Save lives…

Well I didn't know either so let's start on this journey together!

By: Macie Bautista

Let's start off with how hugs can support each other.

Hugs often aren't given unless you're a family member or friend but that's understandable no ones going to hug a stranger!? Hugs given to those shows that other person you care and is a major stress relief . Scientists say that giving people support through touch will help relieve a lot more stress. By this action it shows a lot and makes a person feel safe. By hugging a really stressed out person it can help them reduce some of that stress that has been building up inside of them, we don't want that at all so think about it? Especially since we are in a Covid time we need to hug everyone that is family like our parents or siblings even our pets! It won’t just make us feel better but it will make everyone feel better.

The Helping of Hugs

Hugs are not something people get quite often but when they do it will increase their own happiness. That is just one of the benefits of hugs, people need about 8 hugs-12 hugs a day to grow emotionally and to grow as a person. Scientists say that this would lead you on a good trail for positivity! Positivity is something we want to maintain, having a negative feeling isn't going to get anyone anywhere, all it will do is send you into a hole of despair and give you Depression, Anxiety, and even become introverted. All you think when your negative is that nobody cares, but a lot of people actually care about you whether or not you believe it or not.

Hugs Create Happiness

The Best thing to get out of a hug is pure joy. I myself hug a lot of people and reading up on this makes me happy that I can do that. Hugs release a chemical called Oxytocin that is related to happiness and stress. Oxytocin is known as the “cuddle hormone” which I find weird, but interesting because we are learning new things so don't get my wrong. This benefits all genders and it does help release all that stress and be happy with one another.

What we take Away

We should look back at everything we learned about hugs and how they can save lives. First hugs make us happier, this proves most of the point that most suicides are caused by depression and getting rid of that with happiness and positive intentions takes away from that fire. Secondly it reduces stress. Reducing the stress of another also helps you so reducing all the stress that was caused throughout the day. Finally, just giving hugs to anyone you know. Giving hugs to others isn’t bad. It's okay and to help benefit those you’d choose to hug . With that said, think about someone who might need a hug and just hug everyone!

No More Military Weapons for Police?

By: Araceli Meza Cruz

Do police with military weapons make you feel safe?

President Joe Biden has now put a limit on how much military weapons will be transferred to police. Can limiting the amount of military weapons a police has on themselves be good or will it turn out bad?

Police carrying military weapons has its pros and cons. The benefits of police carrying military weapons are that the police can protect citizens from mass shootings and terrorism. The negatives being that the police can go against the law and use those weapons to harm civilians. We can't say for sure if having police carry military weapons is a danger to society or a benefit to society. Limiting the amount of military weapons a police has on themselves will definitely lower the cases of police brutality, but it could also be a harm to the police if they don't have enough weapons to defend themselves with. The results of this new limit will determine if people are safer with police officers carrying around murderous weapons or if people are safer with police having less weapons.

Dragon Teeth Review

By: Sergio Ramirez Garcia

Dragon Teeth written by author Michael Crichton is a novel that takes place in the late 19th century United States. The story follows a young and rich Yale student, William Johnson, who has to go with a paleontologist, Othniel Marsh, on an expedition to win a bet against his nemesis. The professor then abandons Johnson in Cheyenne, Wyoming, a locus of crime and vice, thinking that Johnson is working for Marsh’s own enemy; Edwin Drinker Cope. Johnson joins forces with Cope and soon finds a discovery of historic proportions, apatosaurus teeth. However, those bones got Johnson in some danger he couldn’t even imagine.

The story begins with an irresponsible and wealthy Yale student, William Johnson, who makes a bet against another student that summer with Professor Othniel Marsh. Marsh is at first against him going, until Johnson lies about being a photographer. Johnson learns photography and leaves with Marsh at the scheduled time. But after Marsh grows very suspicious of Johnson, he abandons him in Cheyenne, thinking he is a spy for Edwin Drinker Cope, a bitter rival of Marsh. Johnson then meets Cope, who invites Johnson in joining his party to the west. However, they are forced to stop at Fort Benton, receiving the news of Custer’s defeat at the hands of Sitting Bull, ordering that it is too dangerous to go to Montana. The group manages to sneak away from the fort. When they arrive at the Judith Basin, they start searching for fossils, and remain there for several months. Meanwhile, Marsh attempts to spy and sabotage their expedition. At the end of the summer, they return to Fort Benton, but since they have too many bones, they leave half at camp to retrieve them on a second trip. Johnson volunteers to lead the trip, and is accompanied by a fellow student named Toad, a snake scout named Little Wind, and the teamster, Cookie. When they approach the camp, they see Sioux campfires. Cookie and Little Wind leave Johnson and Toad behind, and though they retrieve the bones, they are attacked by Sioux warriors on horseback. They come across Little Wind, and they manage to escape by fleeing into the badlands, but Toad is killed in the process. Meanwhile, at Fort Benton, Cookie returns with several arrows in him, and dies of his injuries. Cope assumes that Johnson dies, and telegrams his parents about the tragedy. Meanwhile, Little Wind leads Johnson to the town of Deadwood Gulch, but dies of blood loss on the way. Johnson arrives, barely alive, and after treating his injuries and needs, sets up a photography studio to make some money to buy a stagecoach fare to Fort Laramie. Several people in the town start to think his boxes of bones have gold in them, and Johnson, in fear of being robbed, has to bury them. After some conflicts with a local outlaw, Black Dick Curry, Johnson makes enough money to buy a fare, and prepares to leave. He offers half the bones to Wyatt and Morgan Earp in exchange for protecting the coach on its journey. Curry tries to steal the bones twice, but is unsuccessful. After arriving in Laramie, Johnson finds out that Earp had made a deal to sell half of the bones to Marsh, so Johnson replaces the bones with rocks. He then makes it to Cheyenne, and eventually to Philadelphia. He meets up with his parents, hands the bones over to Cope, and claims his winnings from his classmate.

I personally think that this book had a very well balanced deal of elements in the story, such as action, drama, etc, and considering that it is also historical fiction, so that it keeps the reader interested in the story. I really enjoyed this book, and would recommend it to anyone that is interested in the “Wild West” genre.

Uh Oh, YouTube! New DMCA Law In The Making

By: Antonio Gudino

If you haven’t heard about it, DMCA is a law that is in the making. The basic understanding of it is that if any copyrighted content (mostly music) a content creator or person uses in their video will be serving jail time because of it. And if this law passes, content and content creators might change forever, Many content creators life’s will be affected, for example, there have been a few cases where music plays for a second in content creators videos and it's not even coming from them but from people walking by drive and such. And the music that was played for a bit wasn’t their fault most of the time, but they still get punished. Content creators are going to have to be super careful when it comes to uploading videos into the internet if the law passes. The benefits of this law are small, the company that owns a certain piece of content takes all of that money from the videos that people work hard to make. This law is basically taking most of the money away from people’s videos for the smallest mistake. So this law is only helping the company gain more money they think they deserve. But that’s the only benefit so far in this law. The cons of DMCA law are far worse. First off the jail time, that is the biggest con of this law. Content creators could serve time in jail because of this law. And as stated, most of the time it’s not the content creators fault, so they could go to jail for something they didn’t really do. There are other benefits and flaws to this particular law, this was just a taste of it. If you would like to learn more about the DMCA law, click on the link below.

On The First week of Xmas Tashina Gave to me,

Snacks to enjoy while CHILL-ing!

Gingerbread Men:

A gingerbread is either a biscuit or a cookie made out of gingerbread and is mostly seen shaped as a Human. (mostly seasonal themes and characters which are common) You can Decorate the gingerbread man (Unless you want her to be a girl) with icing, sprinkles, or whatever sweet stuff you want him to have!

(If you want to make this, the recipe and directions will be at the end of the blog).

Egg Nog:

Egg nog (also known as milk punch/egg milk punch) is a sweetened, rich, chilled, dairy-based beverage. The main ingredients that make this EGG-cellent (I crack myself up sometimes) drink Egg nog, is Whipped egg whites, egg yolks, sugar, cream, and milk. (You can add stuff to make it eggs-tra good like cinnamon) But Eggnog’s bad for you so try to limit yourself to at least 1 or 2 cups.

Green Eggs and Ham:

Not much of a sweet person? Try Green eggs and ham! The book Green eggs and Ham by Dr.Suess is what gives me this idea of a snack! A couple of stores sell this so you can buy them if you don’t feel like cooking some.

Cookies and Milk:

This is probably the most common snack for Christmas because of Santa. Gingerbread is considered a cookie (or a biscuit) but I put them as different snacks because there are different types of gingerbread food. You can make any type of cookie but the most popular Christmas cookie is Chocolate Chip! You can either just buy some Cookies from the store or bake them.

These are Some Holiday snacks you can enjoy while CHILL-ing! (I know, there's a SNOW way you can not avoid a pun if it’s me…..ICE see u please Don’t give me the cold shoulder...) What’s your favorite holiday snacks?

And Of Course, If you want to make some here are the links:

5 ways to help the homeless During The Holidays

By: Tashina Bond

Have Extra clothes? Have anything you don’t need or use anymore? Well, You should donate some of the stuff to people that need it the most, like homeless people. (But don’t donate your full and used garbage bag to them, that’s No Good.)

Around the world, there is an estimate of 150 million people who are homeless. In the U.S, California has the most homeless people with around 150,000 people. How can you help reduce this number? Well, here’s how:

  1. Donate Warm Clothes, blankets, etc.

Since Winter is setting in the weather is starting to get colder and colder. Because homeless people don’t have a home, they always have to stand or sit in the cold with nothing warm (except the sun) on them. (while most people snuggle with a blanket with hot cocoa, watching {Insert Movie/Tv Show/Anime}). So, it’ll be helpful if you could donate some warm clothes, blankets, or something else you might have for them.

2. Donate Food/Drinks

Homeless people can’t afford a lot of food (Sometimes they can’t even afford McDonald's with their 1,2,3 dollar menu) so most of them starve or try to find some money in the streets in order for them to buy food that’s unhealthy for them. So if you have some food or drinks that you can donate, do it. You should donate them to the poor. (Just make sure the food or the drink isn’t spoiled, because you don’t want them to feel sick…..Hopefully you don’t want them to….Do you?)

3. Give them a Care package

Doing this is a great way to be involved in helping caring for those in need. But don’t just throw in random stuff and call it a day. Why do you think it’s called a CARE-package? There are certain things they need to make it through their days. Some of the things they need are:

  • Water bottle

  • Gift Certificates for fast food

  • Some snacks like cereal bars, Tuna & Crackers, fruit bar or applesauce

  • Hygiene items like Hand wipes, Comb, or a brush

  • Aid stuff: Band-Aids, Mints/Cough drops/gum, Toothbrush, and toothpaste.

4. Call 311

If you see someone who’s sleeping on the streets, Call 311 to get local services and so you can save a life, since the colder it gets, the more dangerous it is for people to live without a rooftop. 211 is also a common line for community services. Here are some lines if you see someone who’s in the streets:

Veteran Unsheltered Person: 1-877-4AID-VET

Runaway Homeless Teens: 1-800-RUNAWAYS

5. Be Kind

If you see a homeless person, Go up and say hi and smile. It’ll remind them that they’re still human like us. Just make sure someone’s with you in case the homeless individual responds to you in a negative way.

So there ya have it. 5 ways to help the homeless during the winter. Are you going to help the world be a better place?

✨Things That Make Me Happy During Quarantine✨

✨Things That Make Me Happy During Quarantine✨

By: Araceli Meza Cruz

Quarantine has been really stressful, constantly worrying about what's happening around the world, while simultaneously having to go to school and do homework is rough. Ever since the Covid-19 started to spread everyones had less and less time to themselves.

This will be a list of things that made me happy during quarantine.

  1. Food

Food has made quarantine really enjoyable for me since I get to eat whatever I want for lunch and some classes allow us to eat snacks. Even when I'm not in class and I'm just at home, food has been really comforting. This might seem like a bad thing but, it's actually not, well at least not for me. I've been trying to gain weight for a while now but it was quite hard, so now that I'm just at home it's much easier.

  1. Family

During my time being at home my family has been there for me and made quarantine something fun instead of something dreadful.

  1. Phone

My phone has also been there for me, but not in that way. What I mean by "my phone has been there for me" is not the pixel box but the people who post funny things or exciting things. If it wasn't for my phone I wouldn't have been able to see what funny things someone did or said.

  1. Dancing

I wouldn't consider myself a good dancer but I like to learn dances, recently I've been learning a really fun dance. Dancing is a big stress reliever because instead of putting all your attention on something negative you put all your attention on getting the dance moves right.

  1. TV shows

I've been watching a lot of shows lately, my favorite kind of shows are probably documentaries, shows that explain stuff, and shows that are funny but have a good story line. I really like watching TV shows because it let's me detach from what's happening around the world.

  1. My cat

My cat's really funny because in the middle of playing with her she'll just walk away. She can also be a big scaredy cat any little noise that she hears will make her flinch.

  1. BTS

A list of mine that I don't talk about BTS just doesn't exist. BTS have also been there for me because they always perform somewhere or release a song. Even the songs tend to have a really good message. Whatever your mood is you can always find a song that matches your mood. I'm going to finish this list on 7 because 7 is my favorite number.

I hope there was something on this list that you could relate to. If there was not something on this list that you could relate to then I hope that you can reflect on what makes you happy during quarantine.

Top 3 Binge-worthy Anime Shows

By Macie Bautista

Have you ever been so bored that you tried to watch something new? How about giving Anime a try!?

Watching anime is a different experience watching a normal tv show it something that changes one's perspective. Recently I’ve been asked by my friends what anime they should watch especially for their first time here or my Top 3 picks that are the best in my opinion.

Here are the top 3 Anime shows you should watch.

  1. The Time I got Reincarnated into a Slime

The Time I got Reincarnated into a Slime is a good anime to start off with, as are many others. However if you like action and fantasy this is the one for you it is full of awesome fights and awesome abilities, don't let the beginning fool you watch every detail and watch closely. This anime is definitely one of the best anime I’ve watched. It has a great story line on how a monster can turn into the person to create a giant nation where all monsters can live in peace, to one of the most powerful beings in the world. As the world revolves around him as more and more people gather in his nation and want to join sides as he fulfills the dreams of a loved one.

  1. The Promised Neverland

The Promised Neverland is a pretty sad anime I recommend to watch because it’s a day worth of watching and it’s not really long. If you like sad and horror movies or shows this one would be recommended for you it shows lots of emotions physically and menatlly. It can hurt some people to the point where they’ve even cried. This story revolves around three characters that have been bestfriends since birth. They achieved a lot all their years of being in the house. One day everything changes in an instant when a huge secret is revealed to them, they go crazy and they get scared to death, to the point where they have planned out a whole escape, will the escape succeed?

  1. Yuri On Ice

Yuri On Ice is an anime about a main character who wants to pursue his dream in getting a gold medal, for figure skating. Yuri On Ice is a good anime that has a good intro and outro. I recommend this for people who like sensitive animes and like watching character development, However latre his own idol he looks up to when he figures skates is his new coach. Can he lead him to a gold medal can he make it, against so many amazing and talented skaters who have trained year after year always winning and never losing greatly they’d always place. Can he face everyone and face his coach and win the golden medal that he wants.

This was a fun thing to write about and it would be interesting to find who will later find out they are a weeb ( basically an anime watcher) Until next time Cya.

10 TIPS ON HOW TO HAVE FUN DURING QUARANTINE

By: Araceli Meza Cruz

This pandemic has been hard on everyone throughout the world. A lot of people are not used to being inside for such long periods of time, and think quarantine is supposed to be boring. Quarantine is only boring if you make it boring. Here are some tips on how to have fun while staying home.

1.🧩 Playing with puzzles is a great way to pass time and use your brain power. Lately, I have been putting puzzles together and found it to be kind of fun.

2.🧖 Grooming yourself is something everyone should do to keep yourself looking and feeling fresh. Every once in a while you start looking and feeling full. Why not give yourself a homemade spa treatment? Whether it's giving yourself a pedicure or doing something that makes you feel fresh and renewed.

3.✍️👩‍🎨 Drawing/Painting is a great way of using your imagination and expressing yourself.

4.🧘 Stretching/yoga is a good way to relax and increase your flexibility.

5.👨‍🍳Learn how to cook! Now that everyone has spare time, it's a marvelous time to start learning how to cook.

6.📺🎬 Watch a movie at home with the family. Share some snacks and stay up all night binge watching TV.

7.👨‍💻 Play video games. Playing video games is an exciting way to use your problem solving skills.

8.🎃Carve out a pumpkin. Although no one should be going out right now to celebrate Halloween, there's nothing wrong with getting in the Halloween spirit, even if you're just staying home. If this is allowed by your guardians this might be something that you could do.

9. 🏋️Workout. Working out is something very important that everyone should do. It's important to take care of your health, especially when you're in quarantine. I know that it's hard to stay in shape with the constant reminder that food is always there. Quarantine is the perfect time to get in shape, since I know most of us have nothing to do.

10.🛌Take a nap. I know a lot of us have been staying up late and not taking any naps. I know a lot of us got a messed up sleep schedule because of quarantine, for example someone that I know who used to sleep at 10 now sleeps at 4. Some of you guys should really get some sleep including myself because I'm starting to see everyone get eye bags.

I hope everyone does at least one of these things, especially my 10th recommendation. After reading this blog, make sure to try at least one of these recommendations!

Here, we have our past monthly editorials and segments.

Recycling isn’t enough. The world’s plastic pollution is only getting worse. Masks have been getting thrown out into the world. It all started with plastic bags and water bottles. Nowadays, people are making it worse by leaving gloves and masks laying around. While the previous problem was with the plastic bags harming the ocean, especially with the past situation of hurting the turtles. Animals that live in the ocean don’t know what’s food and what’s not food. Whatever they see, they eat. There have been plenty of animals that have gotten sick, hurt, or died because of plastic.

Don’t you guys ever get tired of seeing trash in the ocean where people go to live life and have fun?

Well I do. Last week I went to the beach planning to go in the water. But once we got there and took a look at the water we decided to go to a friend's house and swim at her pool because the water was dirty and there was trash in the ocean.

After explaining about the situations that have been going on, here are some tips to improve our world. Some tips that would help could be to:

  • Throw all disposals into the trash

  • Be aware of where you lay your trash around

  • Be more cautious

  • And think before you do something that will harm the environment

If it was to become a bigger problem we can make a group of people that are willing to volunteer in order to help clean the beach. But everyone must wear a mask and gloves and keep their distance. While trying to help our world and take care of ourselves, It is really important to take care of yourself then help others in any way possible. Now that you know what has been going on help make the world a better and cleaner place. The world is all of our responsibility to keep clean and healthy. So come join us.

Screen Time

By: Natalie Rodriguez

Are you tired of your kids sitting at home doing virtual school and tiring themselves with electronics?

Well many parents would agree and are wanting to put their kids back to school. Most average schools start from early morning and finish in the afternoon, almost about 7 hours. Imagine your child spending 7 hours on their computer screen time trying to get their homework done and classes over with. Some kids even say that they mostly have headaches from time to time during virtual school.

“Headaches, anxiety and exhaustion caused by never-ending video meetings are no longer exclusively for adults trying to work from home during the pandemic. Some schools have started the fall semester with remote-learning setups that mimic what a full day of school was like before the Coronavirus crisis.” Says Heather Kelly in the Washington Post. Some parents are also worried that their child's eyesight might be affected from staring at a screen for so long. Screen time can also affect your brain due to too much of it! Physical strain to your eyes and body, sleep deprivation, increased risk of obesity, susceptibility to chronic health conditions, weakened emotional judgment, delayed learning in young children. These are all some consequences of too much screen time. Screen time can sometimes affect your thinking when there is too much of it. “When doing near work, you need to take a break and let your eyes relax,” says Gore. “Otherwise, you overtire them.” Prolonged periods staring at a screen also causes us to blink less, which results in dryness, irritation, excessive tears, a burning sensation and, often, headaches.” The things listed here sound bad and well they are, that is why we always need breaks.

San Diego Hits Rock Bottom! Worst Year Yet!

By: Monaza Sayame

Earthquakes, climate change, Coronavirus pandemic... what else are you going to throw at us in San Diego?! Nowadays, San Diego has had its worst case scenarios. We have the Coronavirus outbreak making life harder with masks, climate change giving us major heat waves from time to time causing wildfires, and earthquakes appearing out of nowhere. If you think San Diego has not been through a lot, then I have to disagree with you because it definitely has! Here is some information that you can keep in mind when it comes to these problems listed above.

Coronavirus Outbreak

It happened in 2019, in China then spread faster going to different countries and multiplying. At one point it reached San Diego where we had to lay low at first but then we are now locked up until it calms down. There is not a vaccine made and each day a life gets taken. Some of us know that it's a dangerous virus but others don't. It's hard trying to convince others when they already have started taking their masks off. As the world continues to feel the impact of COVID-19 many companies have joined together for one goal: End COVID-19. Even though it may be hard, as long as we are together we will accomplish anything.

Climate Change/ Wildfires

Fire is a simple thing, It can be set very easily with hazards, for example a lighter, matches and anything dry. During our difficult days of climate change most of the days it gets hot to the point where fires set anywhere but mostly in the forests. According to national geographic, “Wildfires can burn millions of acres of land at shockingly fast speeds, consuming everything in their paths.” Claire Wolters says, “These rolling flames travel up to 14 miles an hour, which converts to about a four minute mile pace, and can overtake an average human in minutes.” Wildfires spread so fast that they reach people’s homes and people are forced to evacuate. So it's important that when a wildfire happens, you make an emergency kit to help you at all times.

Earthquakes

When you feel shaking in the ground you know it's an earthquake. Earthquakes happen in San Diego because sometimes a fault accidentally slips and causes the ground to shake. The most recent earthquake happened in Southern California late Friday night. “The earthquake shook buildings and rattled windows, and it was felt in San Diego, Valencia and the San Fernando valley areas.” CNN Alta spells wrote. The earthquake was strong enough to knock you out of balance. So it's important to get under a desk, drop yourself, cover your head. The next time you feel an earthquake remember it is not safe and you need to protect yourself from falling.

Now you have learned about Earthquakes, Climate change/Wildfire, and the COVID-19 outbreak. I hope now you see that San Diego has been through a lot and hit rock bottom this year in 2020. It might not be the worst year we will have but this will be the most remembered year of our misfortune.

What is Mindfulness?

By: Yoselyn Reyes

Have you ever thought how a minute of mindfulness can help you?

Well if you don’t, you should try it- here's why. Mindfulness helps with stress, anxiety, pain, depression, insomnia, and high blood pressure. If any of you are suffering with any of these you should give mindfulness a try.

Mindfulness is a meditation. Some of you might be wondering what meditation is. Well, meditation is when someone practices focusing their mind on something to achieve a mentally clear, and emotionally calm state of mind. Before we start meditating we sit up straight, both feet touching the ground, hands on our laps, and we close our eyes and take deep quiet breaths. If you’re sitting on a chair all four feet of the chair must be touching the floor, but if you’re sitting on the group or some other place just make sure you are sitting up straight.

What does mindfulness involve?

Mindfulness involves a quiet place where you can relax and take out your minds and body stress. Mindfulness also involves breathing methods and guided imagery.

Can meditating help kids, too?

Yes, meditating can be really useful to kids especially during these times of online school. Online school can put a lot of stress on kids. During their break or passing period I suggest them to take one minute of mindfulness. Meditating is for everyone. Everyone can try it.

Red Ribbon Week

By: Monaza Sayame

Hey guys did you ever wonder why Red Ribbon Week started? Well here's why and how it began…

Red Ribbon Week is an “alcohol, tobacco, and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign observed annually in October in the United States.” It started because of a Drug Enforcement Agent (Kiki) who died in Mexico by drug traffickers when investigating in Mexico in 1985. Right after his death people started wearing red ribbons to honor Kiki’s sacrifice. Kiki’s real name is Enrique Camerena, Kiki is just a nickname. After inspiring many people, a parent wanted to also do something about the terrible incident and play his part when it came to drug prevention. As years went on, Red Ribbon Week has become the nation's oldest and largest drug prevention awareness program. Red Ribbon Week is also made so that schools could have an effective drug prevention week. At KLA we usually have like a little spirit week where we can either wear a red shirt or red socks, etc to show how we celebrate and honor Kiki. Below shows an image of our spirit week and what we wear. I hope you learned a lot about red ribbon week and decide that drug use is very harmful to you and make better decisions.

Game Review: Among Us

By: Josh Onyeise

Crewmate, Or Impostor? Which have you been? You might know what I'm talking about, but maybe you don't, so let me give you some background info on the game Among Us. Among Us is a game in which ten players as astronauts (Crewmate) but two of the ten crewmates are impostors. The crewmates have to finish all their tasks, in order for them to beat the impostors and declare victory! If the two impostors eliminate all the crewmates before the crewmates finish their tasks, that means the impostor(s) win and the crewmates are defeated. I personally would give Among Us a 10/10 because playing it with friends and family is so fun. I love mystery games and Among Us has been one of my personal favorites. The updates on the game so far have been immaculate and there are more updates that are yet to come to the game. One such update is when someone votes you (thinks you’re the impostors), their color turns grey so you won’t know who they are. This is really cool because the person that voted is unknown. This game is really amazing and you should consider giving it a try!

✨MOVIE REVIEW✨

Movie: Teen Titans Go! Vs. Teen Titans

By: Araceli Meza Cruz

I think this movie was a 5/10 because this movie didn't really have a plot and a lot of the story line was just trying to take up screen time. The title for this movie was really misleading because the title made it seem like the original Teen Titans were going up against the new Teen Titans Go! They only fought for the first few minutes of the movie and for the rest of the movie they fought against Raven's father. It was exciting to see the original Teen Titans but the movie as a whole was kind of a let down.

By: Tashina Bond

Have you ever had that urge where you're studying and you just have to listen to a song? And, you try to pick a song, but you just get stuck on what to listen to first? Well, I'm going to let you in on a little secret...More like a top 10 song playlist that I listen to when I study. I enjoy listening to classical pop, or music played by the piano. But, it's fine to listen to other genres. However, instrumental or calming songs are great in boosting your focus when it comes to doing your school work.

10: “Make it Shine” By Victoria Justice

Remember Victorious? If you don’t know the show I’d recommend it, It’s such a good show! This song to me is very inspiring because it Trying to say you shouldn’t be hesitant to make your dream come true since people or anything can try to bring you down and if you are hesitant or afraid, Your dream might never come true. I love the meaning behind the song Even though It’s Obvious. But in General, I really like this song!

9: “Yume No Tobira [Riko Piano Ver.]” By Rikako Aida

I said to myself ‘I shouldn’t put a Japanese song on this list,’ but this one is so beautiful that I couldn’t resist! It makes me feel calm and peaceful… like I can do anything! It's also a short piano one, so If you wanted a short song this one is only around 2:30 minutes.

8: “La Da Dee” By Cody Simpson

To be honest, I don’t even know why I like this song. I think it’s because of the ukulele. Even though I’m not a fan of romantic songs, this one is a little goofy and I enjoy listening to it while I study. It doesn’t hurt to check it out sometime!

6: “세일러문 - Sailor star song” By Day데이

Have you ever watched the anime, Sailor Moon? Well, this song is from it! This song is so beautiful and so majestic! I think this is a good option to listen to while studying, so if you want something beautiful to listen to or feel inspired by, I recommend this one! (And yes, it’s a JP song!)

Yay! Spider-man Into the Spider-Verse! I feel like this song has a nice beat to it. It’s also calm and relaxing. Can’t forget the rapping parts… They are fire! This is just an overall great song. People of all ages enjoy this song!

4: “Say So (You can choose between English or Japanese)” By Doja Cat ft. Nicki Minaji or Rainych

  1. If you’re more of an R&B person, this song is definitely a good match! It has a really nice beat and a soft tone. It’s soothing to listen to while studying. And for those of you who like a hint of rap in their studying music, it has some rapping in it, too!

3:” I Like Me Better” By Lauv

I really like the music they put on this. I really like Lauv’s voice since it seems soothing to me and can put me to sleep. Call me basic, but I really like this one. And it’s a meme animation song.

2: “Bokutachi wa hitotsu no hikari” By μ's

I know I said I wouldn’t add any more Japanese songs to this list, but hey, I can’t help it! Here’s one last JP song that I’d love to recommend. This one is just as beautiful as the other JP songs that I’ve listed. If you know the anime Love Live, you’ll know what I’m talking about. My favorite part is the “Ahhh” Moment. This one is so pretty and heart- warming to me!

1: “Diamond” By Rihanna

I love this song so much! One of the only songs I know that has feeling in the lyrics! The vocals are just SHINING with emotion! I can really feel what Rihanna’s trying to tell people with the lyrics and the sound of her voice! I highly recommend this song to people! This song is great for studying because for me, it gives me motivation and determination to continue my assignments!

That’s All The music I recommend you to listen to while studying. There’s a lot of songs I really like but this is my top 10 list. Out of all of these songs, which one will you most likely listen to?

Has Your G.P.A dropped down during these past weeks?

By: Macie Bautista

During distance learning students like to mess around but get caught once they are found out.

Here are 3 things not to do in class…

To begin with these are tad reminders and tops you can use for when you're in class.

  1. Turning Off Your Camera

Turning off your camera is a big NO, it’ll bring your citizenship down by a lot… and won’t help you in the long run. All it will do is bring down your grade and if you're aiming for a KLA All Star then I don’t suggest it. You must at least ask the administrator permission to turn off your camera. Try opening tabs before going to class so your computer doesn’t start bugging out when it’s most needed.

  1. Eating Before Lunch... And /or After Class is Over

Eating is a habit everyone has... other than that, we should keep to the school rules because it makes everyone else want to do the same, which means the teacher will keep you after class to talk about it. No one wants that, literally... no one. Your peers will follow by example, so if they see you eating, they’ll think it's okay which then distracts everyone. So, we would think twice before eating in class or having a talk with a teacher afterwards. Eat lunch so you'll have more energy for the rest of your day at school.

  1. Don’t Be in Your Room When Learning!

Being in your room when learning can cause drowsiness and will cause you to fall asleep. DON’T think about laying down while learning either. It’s just as bad and you’ll end up falling asleep faster. Your room is a place for you to rest and sleep. Learning in your room can change how your body functions because you're in your room, you won’t be getting as much sleep as you're supposed to because your brain tells you it’s time to learn not fall asleep and get the rest needed.

This is the end of our journey through the things we aren’t supposed to do during class. Take advice from someone who’s done all these in class and has gotten in a lot of trouble. See you learners next time on my blog.
