Supervisors

Supervisors of peer-assisted learning are essential in creating cooperative and productive learning settings. These leaders keep an eye on peer-led learning programs, making sure that those involved have fruitful conversations, impart knowledge, and encourage one another's education. They offer direction, lead conversations, and foster an environment of positivity where peers can share ideas and deepen their comprehension of the material. In the end, these leaders enhance the entire learning experience for participants in peer-assisted learning programs by fostering the development of critical thinking, communication, and cooperation skills through their supervision.

MBBS

As a passionate 4th-year medical student at Gulf Medical University, I am fueled by a love for teaching and a commitment to lifelong learning. My journey began in high school when I founded a tutoring program to assist peers struggling with mathematics, showcasing early leadership and dedication to education. Over the past two years, I have had the privilege of mentoring and tutoring younger students at GMU, emphasizing the importance of community support within our academic family. I hold a strong belief in the profound significance of empowering others as a catalyst for their success. Empowerment, in my opinion, transcends mere assistance; it involves equipping individuals with the tools, knowledge, and encouragement to navigate their unique journeys. By instilling a sense of self-efficacy, I aim to empower others to overcome challenges and pursue their aspirations with resilience.

MBBS

I'm a 4th year dedicated medical student at Gulf Medical University. I am thrilled to be a supervisor for PAL program which fosters a supportive learning environment, promotes active engagement and exchange of ideas. I usually escape the chase of medical school by immersing myself in a good book or spending time with Family. Writing and Arabic literature are my creative outlets, and I am also keen in photographing, editing videos and designing PowerPoints. I had participated in many community engagement activities and organized two students symposia during my pre-clinical years and lastly, I won the Scholar Rx grant. Teaching is learning twice and I believe that my passion towards it will help me to make new changes in PAL program this year.

Additionally, I’ve had a love for teaching for as long as I can remember. I grew up as a girl scout and became a scout’s teacher a couple of years ago. I can’t wait to collaborate with you all and have fun but beneficial sessions!

By the end of the year we had almost 80 members and monthly events bigger and better than the last one. Throughout school I was often the class leader and have involved myself in various activities. This academic year, I was able to become the class representative and I‘ve been sharing my capabilities since. Currently I am working on multiple research projects and I look forward to all the incredible things that will happen.
