Each week, our teacher chooses a student who has shown true BISON behavior - Being Intentional So Others Notice! 

Our Bison of the Week receives a special brag tag for their keychain and this cool certificate (to match our classroom's surfing/beach theme)! Mrs. Mahar will also take his or her photo with our stuffed bisonand tell our viewers why that student was chosen as well as a little about the student.

Also, on our classroom window, we have an "MVB: Most Valuable Bison display. Pop over and see it!

Why is NATHAN this week's BISON?
Nathan worked VERY hard this week to be an intentional listener and learner. He was really focused during independent work times and was able to get work done in class so it didn't become homework! He also made amazing progress on his chapter 1 Math MAP last week, which showed intentional effort!

A little about NATHAN...
Nathan says he's an expert on food, loves technology, enjoys reading, and is very good at baseball! He loves ramen, pizza, and hot dogs. He is excited that all of his siblings are at the same school for the first time this year. His favorite color is green and he wants to be an electrical engineer when he grows up.

Why is CORA this week's BISON?
Cora is a very intentional listener. When Mrs. Mahar gives us an attention-getting signal, Cora is really fast to Stop, Orient, Listen - and then waits patiently to act! She always has her eyes on the speaker and shows her brain is checked in by participating.

A little about CORA...
Cora loves the arts, but isn't the biggest fan of social studies and she loves reading fantasy books. She wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up. On the weekends, she enjoys going to Urban Air or Knott's Berry Farm! Her favorite thing in the whole world is "Ruffles", her stuffed dog she's had since she was six years old!

Why is JADE this week's BISON?
Jade excels at showing attentiveness and focus. Even when the classroom gets noisy, she remains calm and on-task. She is a wonderful role model to others by always showing KSRR, listening with her whole body, and attending right away to Mrs. Mahar's attention signal!

A little about JADE...
Jade loves math, but PE isn't her favorite. When she isn't at school she enjoys dancing and playing volleyball. She misses having dogs and wishes she could have another one. Her three favorite foods are: pizza. lava cake, and ice cream. She loves the color light pink and collects Mini Brands.

Why is RAYAN this week's BISON?
Rayan missed the entire first week of school because his family was still out of the country. Upon returning, Mrs. Mahar told him that he could take the week to complete the many tasks he missed out on. Rayan charged right into the storm, worked super hard Monday night, and handed nearly everything in the next morning! Way to charge forward, Rayan!

A little about RAYAN...
Rayan loves reading, but doesn't really enjoy social studies. If he could have any pet in the world, it would be a tiger! He loves sushi burgers and Korean BBQ. He says he's good at soccer and piano - and wants to be an anesthesiologist when he grows up. He collects magnets and Pokemon cards.
