Who is Mrs. Mahar?
Surely, you don't think our teacher sleeps at school and spends her weekends there. When Mrs. Mahar runs into students outside of school, they always seem so shocked that she actually leaves the classroom! Although she is passionate about her chosen profession (really, it is her calling) and loves her students dearly, there certainly is more to her than teaching.
Mrs. Mahar is married to Ryan and we have what we call a "blended family". She has two daughters Mackenzie (22) and Kennedy (19) and her husband has a son, Arthur "AJ" (18). They love to camp, play with their dog -Maizy (7), hike, eat good food, surf, travel, draw and read, play games, barbecue with friends, and take bike rides at the beach.
Mrs. Mahar and her husband bought their first home together in Costa Mesa in October, 2022 and enjoy working on home improvement projects together!

Loves family, reading, crochet, cooking, & surfing.
Eagerly avoids eating mushrooms and peas! 🤢
Mother to Mackenzie, Kennedy, and AJ - and a sweet dog, Maizy.
Always up for an adventure with friends.
Has been a teacher for twenty-three years.

Ten Unique Things About Me
I skipped kindergarten and began first grade only twelve days after my 5th birthday.
I graduated high school when I was 16 years old. For the first ten days of college, I was still only 16 years old!
I drove an ambulance as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for two years in Orange County. I have driven with lights & sirens, performed CPR on real people, and helped to save many lives!
I can tie a cherry stem in a knot with my tongue. (As long as it's not too short!)
I have been a passionate surfer for over 25 years.
In fifth grade, I was knocked off my feet by a boy chasing his friend, while I was bending down to pick up my hopscotch marker and received seven stitches in my chin! I still have the scar.
I can jumprope. I will jumprope with you at recess, if you ask. (But I cannot double dutch. Teach me!)
I have been to France, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Hawaii, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Canada, and 17 U.S. states.
I can pitch my own tent, start my own campfire, and catch my own fish.
I have an extra bone in the roof of my mouth. I'll say, "ahhhh" if you ask me to so you can check it out. Warning - it's kind of "freaky" according to some!
