This is the research project that Professor Koh, Daisy Luna, and I worked on over the Spring Semester of 2021. It's also the project that I'm most proud of from my time at CSUCI. It was a perfect way to wrap up my academic career there. Right now, we're working on getting it published in an academic financial journal. Stay tuned.
Speaking of financial research, this is a project that I worked on in the spring of 2020 for my Finance 300 course. This was why I wanted to go to school and study finance in the first place. For many years, I read books by all of the worlds greatest investors. I read about how they were able to determine intrinsic value and I wondered how they did it. I also knew that I would have to learn how to value firms and investment opportunities by analyzing their fundementals if I wanted to get anywhere in life. My best memory's of that time were working on this project, and staying up until past midnight on an LBO modelling project on the real world case study of the RJR Nabisco buyout. In that moment, I knew that was what I wanted to do someday.
Peter Drucker was the managerial equivalent of a futurist. His predictions were so far ahead of their time, that it almost seems like they were written today, despite the fact that he died decades ago. One of our buildings on campus was even named after him. So in the spring of 2020, I took it upon myself to learn more about him. What I found blew me away, as my article above attests.
