Can you honestly say you're having an Enjoyable Life?
I felt led to create this page in response to a friend of mine asking me how do I do it?
That I manage to have time to do the things I do, I'm now retired, but when I created this page I wasn't. I want to tell you how I do it. My Quotient for life was taught to me by God, quite a while ago, you see, I was tired of the exact kind of fast paced, over burdened, too busy to enjoy life mode that many people find them selves in.
I asked God how do I get out of this? He gave me a simple, but tough answer, He said, "My Yoke is easy and my burden is light!" I said what? What do you mean?
Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
He then explained to me the importance of keeping life simple. Then it dawned on me a theory that I had learned in my music classes at Lansing Community College, they called it the KISS theory.
When you are writing your own songs, and putting them to music, you have to keep it simple, It goes like this Keep It Simple Stupid! That's the kiss theory. So I was already aware of this in another way. God showed me the only way to do this was to release responsibilities I had, and be sure not to take more on than I had the willingness or time to do.
If you have a wife, and who knows, maybe some kids later on, you have to decide whether this is what is good for you. I made a decision that I was going to enjoy life! Now comes the hard part, giving up things that have a crucial, or devastating impact on your future or immediate circumstances.
Another way of shedding responsibility that can hurt is, when there's something you really enjoy doing, but it cuts into your quality time with family, you may need to stop it. Now, there are things that once in a while we can't avoid, but then, we get past them and fall back into the enjoy life mode. Then, you have to learn to be a "no" man. Say no more often than you say yes, when you get invited to places when you know you really don't have the time to go to.
You have to make family time a first priority, than relaxation time, hobby time, entertainment time, game time, whatever it is that allows you to really stay relaxed and enjoy your life. Don't fret the big stuff or the small stuff, you have to let it slide by, or let it go to someone else, because in the long run, you live longer with less stress, less responsibility, less headaches.
BUT, I'm not saying to procrastinate or be lazy! That is my recipe for dealing with life. Sometimes we even have to reject our wives wishes to stay in the enjoying life groove, although once in a while we do make concessions! I highly recommend that you start praying about this, and start implementing it even if it means retiring from your job and getting a relaxing part time job.

My hope for you is that you have had a prayer of salvation,
and if you haven't and you want to ask Christ into your heart
and life, then I offer these words for you to repeat,
but only if your heart is sincere, because God knows
it if you're not.
********************************
Dear God, I now know I have needed you and have
rejected your calling, so today, right now,
I ask Jesus Christ to come into my heart and my life,
and forgive me from all past sin and Lord cleanse me
from my unrighteousness. I believe that Jesus was
crucified for my sin, died, and was buried and rose from
the dead according to the scriptures. I want you
forever more to be my guide and I want to follow
you as a believer. I ask for your strength to change
my heart and my earthly ways so that I can become
a better child in your kingdom. Show me how to
depend on you in all things. And show me how to do
your will in my life. I thank you and pray this
prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
