DATT 2050- Project #2: Particulations
MaxMSP
This piece is a particle animation controlled by my voice reciting a haiku. The visuals are inspired by Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji, drawn by Hokusai Katsushika in 1831. Please enjoy the piece while imagining the stormy waves of the Japanese sea.
The Haiku
Japanese: 荒波や二日の月を捲いて去る(正岡子規)
English Translation: "The rough waves sweep away the moon of the second day."
This haiku was written by Masaoka Shiki (1867–1902), a prominent Japanese haiku poet.
