MEDT 8462: Leading and Managing Instructional Technology Programs
This artifact consisted of conducting a technology needs assessment for my school. I had to identify a purpose for the needs assessment, determine the method of collecting the data, and then analyze the results. By conducting the technology needs assessment, I was able to identify the needs of the school and make suggestions for programs that would help to improve student learning in a positive way.
MEDT 8465: Human Performance Improvement
This artifact demonstrated identifying a problem with a group of 6th-grade science teachers, collecting data through a variety of methods, recognizing the reason for the problem, and recommending several solutions to improve the problem to help improve communication between the teachers and guardians promptly. This artifact focused on closing the gap in the performance behaviors of the teachers to help improve student learning by addressing guardian communication in a timely manner. Effectively communicating student performance with guardians can help improve student performance because guardians will be informed about their student's academic performance.
I enjoyed exploring this ISTE standard. It gave me a better understanding of what it entails to conduct a needs assessment to help identify problems and issues within any organization. Both of these artifacts fostered my skills as a technology coach. I believe I can participate and have a more active role in my school's technology team. These artifacts provided me the opportunity to perform needs assessments to help identify the needs of the school and the best methods to address the issues positively to help improve student learning. The skills learned are imperative for me to grow as an educator. I need to consistently grow in all areas through professional development and continual reflection to make changes to my instruction. By following this, I can ensure to meet the students' needs more consistently and enhance their learning.
