Module Outcomes:
1. Identify and examine the key technical and compositional components of aquatics and dance activities.
2. Demonstrate accurate replications of a range of aquatics and dance skills and movements, including safe practice for their progression and development.
3. Apply compositional ideas to create movement sequences as an individual, with a partner, and in small groups.
4. Make and justify decisions about how to improve the maximum performance level in aquatic and dance activities.
5. Take responsibility for reflecting upon performances and developing strategies and resources to improve performances in dance and aquatics.
6. Communicate the corrective strategies and resources in a variety of written, verbal or visual formats, making suitable use of ICT, specifically video and digital technology
Aquatics Learning Outcomes:
1. Identify and examine the key technical and compositional components of aquatic activities.
2. Demonstrate accurate replications of a range of aquatic actions, including safe practice for their progression and development.
3. Make and justify decisions (relevant to the context of the performer) about how to improve performance level in aquatic activities.
4. Effectively communicate and apply robust corrective strategies that could lead to improvement.
This google site describes the weekly contents of the aquatics component of the Aquatics and Dance Module and directs you to key tasks and readings that embed the learning associated with the module outcomes. Additionally, there is a range of weekly tasks that you will be expected to complete. The purpose of which is to enhance subject knowledge, pedagogy, and support preparation for the summative aquatics assessment. Key readings are highlighted. Also, optional stretch and challenge activities are included.
The assessment is a 'phase test' comprising of analysis of a swimmer (section A), and corrective measures (section B). Each section is evenly weighted in your overall aquatics grade. The format will be an open book examination and the submission times for the work will be used to monitor that your work is completed within the allocation of 2hrs 20mins. See the assessment tab in BlackBoard for further details or below. This assessment is worth 30% of your overall mark for this Module. This is a 20 credit module.

After each section, there is a check on learning and an intersessional task. Again, these tasks are important to prepare you for the aquatics assessment.
