The International Programming Committee works with divisions, departments, faculty and staff to balance the number, type, and travel sites to coordinate and balance offerings to ensure optimal student interest, enrollment and participation.
PROGRAMS ARE SELECTED 1 YEAR IN ADVANCE.Â
(e.g. Programs for 2024-25 are selected in February of the 2023-24 academic year)
Criteria used to select Short-term Programs Abroad on an annual basis include:
Congruence with current institutional strategic priorities
Quality of program design, logistics & support
Health & safety protocols onsite
Intentional integration of moments that matter (experiential learning opportunities) & sustained interaction within the regional culture and people
International/Regional geographical diversity
International/Regional cultural diversity
Global Competency development (international programs)
Duration of travel (priority to 14+ days)
Student demand/interest
Affordability
Audience & Program focus
Program type (credit & non-credit)
Integration of sustainable travel principles
Number of overall programs proposed and locations proposed
