Session 2025 - 2026
Session 2024 - 2025
Marshmallow Monday - 28th April, 2025
This week, we talked about our Leadership and Learning Groups - Portgordon Patter. The children have become so much more confident to share their ideas and suggestions during these business meetings.
24th February 2025
We talked about Inclusion, whilst enjoying a fluffy, sweet marshmallow (or two!)
15th January 2025 - postponed from December due to our dedication to practise for 'A Miracle in Town'!
We had a discussion about developing our language of learning. The ticks are for things we already do and the arrows for things we can work on.
We had a walk-about in the school to look at the environment - the children engaged very well!
4th November 2024
During Marshmallow Monday this afternoon, we talked about the aspects of our school which we’re trying to improve. Teachers work on different things all the time to help make our learning and our Portgordon experience sparkle. All these things are in a big long document and we worked together today to make it child-friendly. The House Captain Team attend each meeting and take it in turns to take notes. Thank you to Lexi who did a super job of it today!

Our next steps:
Mrs Hay will make posters for the classrooms so that everyone can see what we're working on together.
Our House Captain Team are keen to make a monthly / termly newsletter to share with the wider community, so that they know what our school ethos is about.
16th September 2024
We met for our first Marshmallow Monday today, and talked about important things which affect us in school. We will be using an important document called How Good is OUR school to shape our focus for these meetings. (https://education.gov.scot/media/l4ypcopt/hgiours-part2.pdf)
2 pupils from each class came along to Marshmallow Monday and we look forward to welcoming the House Captain Team along to each future meeting, once they've been voted in.
The focus today was about Safety - during our learning in class, and out in the playground. Children's responses are recorded below and will help us to dig deeper into how safe they feel in school, with pupil voice from all children.
