Intelligent Agents

Intelligent Agents can be an extremely powerful tool for helping your students stay on track and stay engaged with the course. 

However, do not become too reliant on them. Excessive emails to students may eventually cause them to have anxiety and lead to cluttered inboxes. This, in turn, can cause them to miss out on important emails from you and for other courses and from Canisius.

While we used Intelligent Agents to send emails to students, you can just as easily send yourself an email instead. Then, using the information provided by the email, you can set up a meeting with the student to discuss the situation or have a conversation with them the next time they see you.

You can also just rely on the Intelligent Agent Notification Email to let you know when it has been triggered. Then you can check the Intelligent Agent list to see which student(s) triggered it and have a conversation with them.

Additionally, you may only want to use Intelligent Agents for "important" assignments instead of all assignments. 

With all of that said, you do not even have to use Intelligent Agents. You can instead manually check up on students by looking at their User Progress page. Then either email the student or have a conversation with them if needed.
