Focus: Domestic Violence Prevention
Every minute, 20 people are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. 1 in 5 women have been victims of rape, with nearly half of offenders being intimate partners of the victim. Such daunting statistics illuminate the impact of domestic violence on our society, and its resultant consequence on both the physical and mental health of victims. With direct relation to healthcare and our future patients, our class has collectively chosen to devote a service day towards bringing awareness to the prevalance of domestic violence while concomitantly supporting a local non-profit foundation that has made an enormous impact on combating domestic violence in Buffalo, NY.
Partner Spotlight: Rachael Warrior Foundation
