The Canisius College Physician Assistant Studies program is built upon the central mission of eliminating healthcare disparity and improving the health and wellbeing of underserved populations by developing competent, compassionate clinicians who discern a purpose of service, mindfulness, and leadership in both their community and profession.
Our annual health equity week is one illustration of the means by which our program exercises the practice of service, leadership, and mindfulness in the local community, further motivating the development of clinicians with an all-encompassing passion for serving others. Students within the program spend several months planning and organizing a week of events that embody our goals of service and devotion towards narrowing the health disparities faced by varying populations within Buffalo.
Each weekday is devoted to a unique population whom students have recognized as at risk of facing health disparities and feel passionate about providing assistance and support. Through our explicit dedication to aiding the surrounding community, we are able to formulate impactful and lasting connections which directly translate towards a better collective health of those within our city.
