The Caddo Magnet High School Swim Team's regular season has come to an end, concluding with a win at a dual meet against Calvary on 11/5.
Throughout the regular season, swimmers competed in 6 meets. Magnet took the win against Byrd and Parkway at their season opener meet on 9/17. Our swimmers then swam at the Bulldog High School Invitational meet in Ruston on 9/21, where Magnet took 2nd overall. While things got busy at school, some of our swimmers still were able to compete at the two YMCA meets, one on 9/28, the other on 10/19. The season closed on a high note at Magnet vs. Calvary at Town South on 11/15, where our swimmers did exceptional.
Several fast times were swam this season, with Wesley Wynn taking 1st in the 200IM at the Bulldog meet with a time of 2:04.78, also claiming the school record. Also at this meet, both our men and women's 200 free relays placed 1st, with both teams' 200 medley relays placing 2nd. Throughout the season, several swimmers set personal bests in their respective events. On the girls side, Elena Wooley set personal bests in her 50 free, 100 free, and 100 back. Gaylynn Hall followed the same trend and set personal bests in her 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, and 100 breast. For the boys, Bryce Barrow set personal bests in his 50 free, 100 free, 100 back, 200IM, and 100 fly over the course of the season. Henry Cooner set personal bests in his 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, and 100 breast.
10 Caddo Magnet swimmers will represent the team at the LHSAA Division II State Championship meet in Sulphur next weekend, November 22 and 23. The team consists of 6 girls and 4 guys. Lily Bodily, Rahsi Duncan, Ivy Joseph, Annika Switzer, Maya Trutschl, and Jolie Vo, Bryce Barrow, Harrison Jacobs, Wesley Wynn, and Kevin Zhao. This group of swimmers will participate in the preliminary session on Friday afternoon, followed by the finals session on Saturday afternoon. This meet will conclude the season.
