For thirteen years I had the pleasure of being a classroom teacher for third grade and fifth grade, with one year in fourth grade. Then one day, I entered the land of Gifted & Talented and am thrilled to be here! To me, teaching is the most dynamic career because every day is different and I get to work with the most wonderful kind of people…KIDS! As a teacher I have my Masters in Literacy because I feel that sharing the love of reading with kids and escaping into a good story are the most rejuvenating things to do! As a student, Science was my favorite subject to learn. I love collaborating, problem solving, and having hands-on activities to delve into.
When I’m not teaching, I love spending my time with my husband John and two children, Elora and Jonathan. We love to be outside, create art, and enjoy music together. I love to sing, play violin, write, cozy up with a book, share laughter, and partake in any kind of craft…if I am left idle too long I will rearrange furniture, repaint a room in my house, or sew curtains! Cooking and baking with family is definitely one of my happiest places to be. My super power is to take inspiration from the wackiest things and turn them into cupcakes. I am a homebody at heart, but love a good spontaneous adventure with friends and family!
I look forward to igniting curiosity, gaining new knowledge, sharing different perspectives, making exciting discoveries, and innovating with the kids and staff I work with!
