About Me

I was born and raised in Idaho. I grew up in Eastern Idaho and graduated in 1988 from West Jefferson HS, in Terreton, Id. This is a small rural community with many similarities to the Meadows Valley community. I moved to McCall in the summer of 89, where I met my husband Brett Carpenter, we got married in October of 89. We have 2 grown children, Bart and Dixie, both graduated from Meadows Valley. Bart in 2008 and Dixie in 2012. I have always enjoyed children and spent much time when my children were in school volunteering and helping wherever I was needed. I started substitute teaching when they were in elementary school, it was then that I decided to pursue a career in teaching. So at age 38 I started college at Western Governors University, where it took me 6 years to get my Bachelors degree in K-8 Interdisciplinary Studies. I have been involved in the activities at Meadows Valley since my children started attending in 2003. I did my student teaching in 2014 here at Meadows Valley in the 2nd grade classroom. I graduated from Western Governors University in July of 2014. I had been a substitute teacher here at Meadows Valley since 2010. I started fulltime teaching in the fall of 2019. When I am not teaching I enjoy working in our orchard, gardening and playing music. Also spending time with friends and family.
