Below is a compilation of links and resources for students and families who may be struggling with addiction and/or substance abuse. Topics covered include drugs, alcohol, vaping, and tobacco. If a student is in need of help with addiction related issues, contacting a school counselor is always a great place to start. While the resources below are helpful and informative, there are additional resources that the school can work to coordinate.
NextGen Counseling is a local counseling office that offers specialized treatment for teens facing substance abuse and gaming/gambling issues. They assess student needs and provide interventions at a level that is appropriate to the issue.
The PA Department of Drug & Alcohol Programs' Family Learning Series provides videos that can be a starting point for family conversations about substance abuse. Topics are appropriate for both student and family substance abuse issues.
