At this point, if you've been going through this website, you've probably seen Scoir referenced at least once. Scoir is cloud-based software that connects students, families, high schools, and colleges for a better admissions experience. Scoir will be your tool to connect your Mid Valley documents (like transcripts and letters of recommendation) to colleges and universities, as well as do some college and career exploration. Scoir connects directly with the CommonApp and makes applying to college easier! The majority of students' time spent on Scoir will be as a senior, but all students are encouraged to utilize it, explore, and get used to the website!

Mid Valley seniors will use Scoir to request Letters of Recommendation, request Transcripts, and create their Senior Brag Sheet. All other students are encouraged to utilize Scoir to curate their postsecondary searches, exploring different occupations, programs, majors, and schools in their search tool. The next few sections have a bit more detail on each of those things.

Scoir and the CommonApp are completely integrated, so applying to schools through the CommonApp makes the process very easy. There are, however, schools that will require students to use a different playform to apply. In these cases, students will still utilize Scoir to send their supporting documents. To clarify, CommonApp and other platforms like that (school websites, Coalition, etc.) are used to apply to schools. Scoir's primary purpose is to communicate all other supporting documetns with schools students have already applied to.

As has been mentioned, students will utilize Scoir to request Letters of Recommendation from their teachers and have them sent to schools. Because Scoir and CommonApp are now integrated, this will never be done through an application platform. All letters of recommendation will be sent through Scoir. As has been mentioned, students will utilize Scoir to request that their Transcripts get sent to schools to which they are applying. This is made very easy through Scoir, but there's still more you should know about the process. Part of the process for seniors as they are applying to college is to create a Senior Brag Sheet. This is a survey that is completed entirely through Scoir. It's a place for students to organize their thoughts, activities, and accomplishments. It also is utilized by your counselor and teachers to help them write a well informed Letter of Recommendation.
