If you apply to a college, that college will require a copy of your high school transcript before they accept or deny you. While you can access a current transcript through Sapphire, colleges and universities will not accept a transcript unless it's officially sent by your high school. This is the responsibility of your counselor. All efforts will be made to send your transcripts in a timely manner.

Please note that the majority of your transcripts will be sent to schools through another platform. There are, however, a few schools who notoriously do not accept transcripts this way. Johnson College and military academies, are two examples. Your counselor will know what to expect for these schools and you can follow the same directions below for them.

At this time, discussions about the official process to send transcripts to schools from Mid Valley are ongoing. More information will be shared prior to applications opening on August 1st.

The information above is specific to sending initial transcripts to schools. Some schools will request that you send them mid-year grades as well. If requested, mid-year grades will be sent some time in February and will include updated GPAs as well as current grades for the classes you're taking during senior year. If a school requires mid-year grades, please let your counselor know when you receive the notification. Final grades will be sent once you've graduated only to the school you are actually planning to attend. Your counselor will know which school to send this to based on the answer you give on the End Of Year Senior Survey. Students do not have to request that their final transcripts be sent to colleges.

Many applications will also require a Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR). You can learn more about this in the section below.

The SRAR requires students to self report all courses that have been taken throughout high school. This includes the course name, course level, credits earned, grade earned, and yearly GPAs. Students can access all of this information by viewing their unofficial transcript in Sapphire. To do that, log into Sapphire, click on "Reports," then "Transcript," and then choose "Student Transcript."

At times, you will be able to enter SRARs into one application and then use it for multiple schools. The Common App is one of the places where this is the case. At other times, you will have to enter grades in more than once. It can be a bit tedious, but it's all part of the process. Stay organized, and you'll be alright!
