Program works with industry and community to maximize student engagement and employment. Industry has a clear voice in program direction.
Our Law and Public Safety program actively engages in a public relations plan to promote its value and impact within the community. We share updates about the program through press releases, newspaper articles, and social media platforms, highlighting student achievements, SkillsUSA competition results, and collaborative projects. Students participate in community service initiatives such as mock DUI simulations, safety fairs, and crime prevention campaigns, fostering strong connections with the public. Beyond the advisory committee, our program maintains and enhances industry participation by partnering with local law enforcement, forensic labs, and emergency services to provide guest speakers, mentorships, internships, and hands-on training opportunities. These partnerships ensure students gain real-world experience and keep the program aligned with current industry standards and expectations.
By implementing this Public Relations Plan, Shaw High School’s Law and Public Safety Program can enhance its reputation, attract more students, and strengthen community partnerships, ultimately preparing students for successful careers in public safety.
