The Mastery Learning Record (MLR) is a comprehensive way of documenting and communicating student learning beyond traditional grades. Rather than focusing solely on test scores or course averages, the MLR highlights the skills, habits of mind, and competencies students develop over time.
Over the past few years, small cohorts of Nipmuc students have had the opportunity to pilot and build their Mastery Learning Records. We are excited that this opportunity is now available to all students.
Through the Mastery Learning Record, students can showcase growth in the MURSD Portrait of a Learner competency areas. It provides a richer, more complete picture of each student’s strengths and readiness for college, career, and life after high school.
