Hi There!

My name is Mrs. Hopkins, and I am so excited to be working with the second grade team again this year!

I attended Worcester State University from 2010-2014 where I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I am very proud to say I was a part of the WSU Track and Field Team as a hurdler and sprinter. My hard work and determination to be the best I could be, really paid off when I became an All American in the 100 meter hurdles my senior year. I think those qualities are important when teaching in the classroom!

What I learned from running track is that the same drills and workouts don't work for everyone. So I went back to school and completed my Master's in Special Education in 2017. I love being able to find different strategies to help every student become successful!

I have been a member of the Clough community since the completion of my student teaching in 2014! Since then I have worked as a paraprofessional, then became a full time Special Education Teacher. I have been able work with first, second, and third grade since I have been at Clough. I am excited to be back in second grade this year!

When I am not in school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son Bodie. I also love cuddling with my cat Loki, and riding my pony Mattie. When I am not with my pets, I love crafting, spending time with my family, and reading outside by the fire on a warm night!

I am excited for the school year to start in person! Patience, flexibility and kindness will be important for everyone to be successful!
