Dr. Jessica Naber’s education consists of a Bachelors in Nursing from Murray State University, a Masters in Nursing Education from Bellarmine University, and a Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of Tennessee. She has served in a nursing faculty role for the past 15 years and is currently an Associate Professor teaching at Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky, in both the didactic and clinical setting. She has taught various courses, including Fundamentals, Leadership, Philosophy of Science, Theory, Research, and Capstone at the Bachelors and Doctoral levels. She has advised numerous Honors Thesis projects and Capstone projects, and many independent student research studies.
Dr. Naber’s current research interest focuses on healthy lifestyles, particularly in the five National Geographic Blue Zones, and she has published several articles and presented in numerous venues about this topic. She has led several education abroad programs, taking nursing students to visit these locations and study the lifestyles of centenarians in the world. She has been the recipient of the Omicron Delta Kappa Faculty Academic Advisor of the Year award, the Outstanding Research Award, the Ruth E. Cole Endowed Professorship, and the Education Abroad Curriculum Award. She lives in Murray, Kentucky, with her husband and three children, Sydney, Aubrey, and Collin.
