Dr Janice Thurmond is an assistant professor at Murray State University in the School of Nursing and Health Professions where she is the director of the Family Nurse Practitioner program. She worked for many years in women’s health and has assisted numerous women maintain healthy pregnancies. Her experiences as both nursing student preceptor and adjunct faculty led to full-time teaching at Murray State. With 25 years of experience as a family nurse practitioner, she has developed a passion for healthy living and encourages health promotion activities to all her patients in her current part-time practice at Cagle, Bailey, and Wiles Family Practice. Her most important role is grandmother to three amazing active granddaughters. She enjoys golf, hiking, fishing, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
