Week 1- Work on learning about your country and issue. (Focus-Research and Writing)
Week 2- Develop a policy statement that presents their assigned country’s position on the issue for debate. Delegates will send in their short policy statements and receive feedback from the mentors. (Focus- Research and Writing)
Week 3- Turn policy statement into a 1-minute opening speech while coming up with helpful notes for the debate. (Focus- Speech and Debate)
Week 4- Turn your ideas into several clauses to be inserted into a resolution. Mentors will help delegates with the finer points of clause writing (Focus: Writing and Debate).
Debate- Saturday and Sundays of Week 4 (Refer to specific conference page of the month for details)
Extension Activity: Using both the Edmodo space and the online classroom, students could plan a short joint activity or campaign or discussion on the debated topic or other issue of interest.
