"It's so dark outside,’’ Elliot cries.
"It's ok, Elliot, Builder is working on the power now," Chance said trying to calm Elliot.
Guest walked in holding a can of Bloxy Cola. "Elliot, Chance, come look outside; the wind is getting strong!’’
Guest said while looking out the window. Builder came up from the basement as the lights flicked back on.
"Ok, I think we should be good for the rest of the night," Builder said while cleaning up his tools.
Elliot said, "Finally, I can work on dinner. Thanks for fixing the power, Builder."
Elliot walked into the kitchen beginning dinner while the others discussed the storm and what might be happening.
"Elliot, need help in the kitchen?’’ Shedletsky said with a smile.
"Sure," Elliot said while getting out a pan for pizza.
Everyone sat around the tv waiting news on the storm.
"Ugh…’’ Chance sighed, "I ate all my pizza."
Elliot answered, "It’s okay, Chance, there is more in the kitchen. We can go get some more."
As Elliot and Chance got up and went to the kitchen, the lights went out again, but this time it was different somehow. Shedletsky sat up seeing a shadow in the corner of his eye. He leaned over and whispered to Builder: "Hey Builder, I seen something in the window. I’m going to go check it out."
"Do you want me to come with you?’’ Builder replied.
"No, I think I’ll be okay.’’ Shedletsky said, trying to sound brave.
Shedletsky got up to go get a flash light out of the other room; he looked out of the window slowly opening the door.
"Builder, I think we are okay." Shedletsky said.
As Shedletsky was walking back into the room, something grabbed him by his foot.
"Builder, HELP!!!!" Shedletsky said yelling as the others ran in to see what was happening.
The End

After spending a weekend at their cabin, the family woke up on Sunday morning to head home. When they finished packing their bags and went to load them into the car, they were surprised to find an incredible amount of snow. They were snowed in. The kids had school the next morning and were anxiously waiting to see if it would be called off. Every time the phone rang, the kids were wishing for it to be the call saying that school was cancelled. Finally, the call came. They got the news that school was cancelled, and they did not have to worry about finding a way to get home. The next day, they had so much fun playing in the snow, they made a snowman, and watched Christmas movies all day. The kids were grateful for the snow, after all it gave them a day full of memories that they would never forget.

Snow filled the tops of the mountains, and the roofs of the cozy cabin. Early in the day, we made snowmen and sled down the hill, but as fog and night began to fill the sky, we ran inside. Inside, we filled our mugs all the way up to enjoy a hot, comforting cup of hot chocolate. We watched movies all night and continued to stare in amazement at the beauty of the snowfall. Unhappy because we had school in the morning, the phone rang. It was great news, school was off for the next day, so we got to repeat the exciting events all over again. The next day, we did just that. Sadly, the fun had to end, and the next day school was back open for all to attend. This weekend was so much fun, and I wish it didn’t have to end.
