Overview
G10 GEx GC (Global Citizenship Class) June is part of a mandatory programme for all Grade 10 students which takes place starting in the last week of school in June before the summer break. Students have the option of choose either a local or domestic travel programme in Canada; for regional or domestic travel, students complete the programme before July. G10 GEx is launched to parents and students in September and programming begins in the spring with a mix of preparation sessions at Mulgrave before the final "week without walls". Families must register and for the programme fee in the fall.
The GEx Vancouver Local June options are experiential extensions of the Mulgrave Grade 10 Global Citizenship Course viewed differently through the lenses of food security, social entrepreneurship, urban sustainability, and DEIJ (diversity, equity inclusion, justice). It supports the course mission to “enable students to become responsible, active citizens within the diverse communities to which they belong” and appreciate “issues of civic importance such as environmental responsibility and the policies needed to meaningfully engage with issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.”
