Husky Swim Club is a registered student organization (RSO) at Michigan Tech. Our mission is to promote wellness through the sport of swimming, as well as raise awareness for the sport as a life-long activity. We do this with an emphasis on inclusivity, flexibility, and enthusiasm.
Husky Swim Club (HSC) was founded on November 1st, 2019 by Isaac Fong. He was our first president, who single-handedly generated interest in the club, created our constitution, and started running practices– all as a first year student. It was his outstanding leadership that would lead the club on the road to success.
HSC started as a very small group, but grew to a club of 50+ active members in only a few years.
In October 2021, Husky Swim Club made history by representing Michigan Tech in its first NCAA competition in 30 years since the team was disbanded in 1991. The meet involved 24 members traveling to Ripon, Wisconsin to take on Ripon and Loras College.
In December 2022, Husky Swim Club made a name for itself by winning the men’s 200 medley relay at the Roger Ahlman Invitational in St. Paul, MN, showing every NCAA school present that HSC was a legitimate contender. See all our adventures on our page below!
