Hello! I am Ms. Roman, and I have been teaching second grade at OHES since 2020! I live in Glen Gardner, New Jersey, and I have two cats named Maya Violet and Zinnia Rain. I love all animals, and I also help rescues bring dogs and cats to their foster or forever home through the Kindred Hearts Transport Connection and Many Paws Volunteer Transportation team. I am an avid hiker and love mountain biking too! I have two older sisters, Jessica and Melissa, and you will learn about them throughout our writing units! I also have a nephew, Jason, and a niece, Natalie. Check out some of the pictures below to know more about me.
Formerly named Carrot, Maya was adopted from the Jefferson Township Animal Pound in Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey. Prior to Maya's formal adoption, she enjoyed her own version of mountain climbing in my home. I woke up in the morning and Maya was missing! Turns out, this feisty kitty loves to hide out in ceilings. Maya also enjoys bird watching, Churu treats, anything involving food, and meeting new people.
Formerly named Crystal, Zinnia was adopted from the Jefferson Township Animal Pound in Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey. Zinnia is quiet, and she prefers her solitude. Zinnia loves the sunshine and warmer weather, Churu treats, and her rattle mice. Zinnia is a calico cat with orange, black, and white patches of fur.
