Each week you may elect to do an anchor chart summary with your class. This would take place after their sharing circles and each group will bring its findings to the whole group to synthesize the weekly reading. As the group completes this activity, they will offer their vocabulary words as brought forth by the word wizard to the word walls.
See our example of what your weekly summary chart could look like. We have chosen to include the characters you encountered this week, important details, and a brief summary of all chapters in that week's reading.
At the end of your novel study you may choose to have students complete a summary map either independently or through group contribution.
