Select ‘Research Administration’ on menu to left of your FAST screen.
Select ‘My Research’ at the top menu on the far left.
From this ‘My Research’ menu, select ‘Grant Details’.
Using the drop-down menu in the Grant Details screen, select the down arrow to the left.
Find and select your project fund number in the drop-down list.
Select the green button on the right side of the screen ('Execute report') to execute the report.
To get to your project fund balances in FAST Finance Reporting, you don’t need to memorize your project fund number.
The 'Available Balance' number in the Grant Details menu can have three different colors that denote changes in your project:
Green = default color in FAST
Orange = you are close to your total grant amount
Red = you are over your total grant amount (*in rare instances*)
To change the date range for the project funds you are seeing in FAST Finance Reporting:
In first drop-down menu to left, select the down arrow. Then, in this menu, find and double click on ‘Date Range’.
In the 'Date Range' screen, select the magnifying glass icon next to the ‘Fiscal Period From’ menu and select the start date you want for your report.
Now, select the magnifying glass icon next to the ‘Fiscal Period To’ menu and select the end date you want for your report.
Once you have a date value selected in both 'Fiscal Period From' and 'Fiscal Period To' fields, click the green button on the right side of the screen ('Execute report') to execute the report.
Once you’ve executed a report in the ‘Date Range’ screen, you can now change the periods in the Finance Reporting screen directly by adjusting the 'Period' and 'To' drop-down menus.
Watch the video to learn more - it walks through examples of filtering data by changing dates on the report in both ways.
If you want to go back a previous step in FAST Research to a specific report you ran, a good tip to is to select ‘Return to document details’ or 'Return to Report' (in the top left of the FAST Finance Reporting screen) and not use backspace.
