Dancing, for me, has been one of the most important things in my life. It has helped me grow more confidently as a person and has helped me express myself in times when words couldn't describe my emotions. Growing up, I had always been a shy person, but through the art of dance, I've been able to get out of my comfort zone and meet other people.
It has also helped me find my calling for teaching. I was given the opportunity to coach and teach a competitive team. This experience has taught me that people are different in the way they learn and perceive things. It is up to us, both the educator and the student, to work together to find the middle ground. For the first time in my life, I was able to truly see the passion, dedication, and talent in others. As a leader, I strive to do anything in my power to help them reach their full potential.
Although I have graduated and have left behind a generation of amazing dancers, I am lucky to be welcomed back at any time to teach and choreograph for my High School's dance curriculum!

Travelling is a nice break from the redundancy of everyday life. It is amazing to think that we can simply hop on a plane and go anywhere in the world. This year alone, my brother and I have travelled to Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany all in one week. We are currently in the midst of planning a trip to the Philippines!
I believe that being exposed to different cultures and societal norms can help expand a person's world view. As a teacher living in a culturally diverse nation, it is extremely important for me to understand, respect, and acknowledge other people's cultures. Through travelling, we can learn to connect and understand a multitude of beautifully diverse people, bringing us all a little closer.
