I was fortunate enough to work for Cindy Gray and the rest of the team over at 5 Quarters Investor Relations this past summer.
5QIR is an investor relations and communications agency that works with public and private companies in various industries. They provide extensive knowledge of business, capital markets and corporate communications when developing communications work for their clients.
As the summer student on a smaller sized team, I was tasked with various projects to help support the team as much as I could. Primarily, I conducted research on various topics for deliverables such as news releases, client backgrounders, social media listening, TSX and OTCQB standings, blog drafting and industry events.
In addition to researching, I applied my creativity and information designing skills to use by developing new document filing system structures and a way to help search various slide presentation elements for on-the-go work. These were term-long projects.
Dealing with various fast-paced industries, often no two days were the same, but some examples of other tasks I performed are:
Created "client tear-sheets" allowing easy access to essential client information and procedures for existing and new clients
5Q Social media planning and drafting
Investor slide concept designs with instruction on what needed to be done.
Online video conferencing video background template design
Website content captures
Events planning and coordination including outreach, scheduling and inquiries both internally and externally
Uploading hundreds of continuous disclosure documents for client OTCQB listings
Replicated various information tables in excel with updated data for client investor presentations
Assisted in creation and curation of news release drafts and comment letters
I helped design many individual slides or full slide presentations for different topics at 5Q. The pictures on the left are just slight ideas into the design style I used, as I cannot share the full content.
Note - these are not final representations of 5Q, as they are now dated and were drafts as part of a final presentation.
