Mike Rowe Work Ethic Scholarship
Students who are planning to pursue a skilled trade, technical training, or career and technical education program should consider applying for the Mike Rowe Scholarship. It’s a great fit for hardworking students who value hands-on learning and are committed to building in-demand skills through an approved trade school, apprenticeship, or certification program rather than a traditional four-year degree path. The Hughey Trust Loan is for high school seniors and college students who are majoring in a medical related field. This is a loan program through the Hughey Trust for students residing in Fayette County as well as the surrounding counties.

Frank B. Sollars Memorial and Fayette County Farm Bureau Scholarships
Fayette County Farm Bureau along with the Frank Sollars Family have teamed up to offer two separate scholarships. These scholarships will total to an amount of $2,000. Students will use ONE scholarship application to apply for BOTH scholarships. In order to receive the Frank B. Scholarship, applicant MUST be an agricultural major.

2026 Marlyn and Marjorie Moore Wilt Agriculture Scholarship
Requirements include having a 2.5 GPA or higher, Majoring in an agricultural field and to be accepted by a 2 or 4 year college, community college, trade school, or trade program. Preference may be given to FFA members.

The Kittyhawk (Dayton) post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) offers scholarships to support students pursuing careers in engineering, architecture, construction, facilities management, and environmental management are encouraged to apply.

Southern State Community College Scholarships
Did you know that there is still time to apply for Fall 2026/Spring 2027 scholarship funding from SSCC and the SSCC Foundation? The application is available here and the priority deadline for review and awarding is March 31, 2026. Applications received after March 31 are considered only if scholarship funds are available after the first round of priority scholarship offers are completed. The portal will stay open through the first week of fall classes.
There are over 40 scholarship fund opportunities (but only one main application for all), and scholarship award amounts range from $500 to $4,000. Here is a sample of scholarships offered:
Alice Mae Smith Adams County Scholarship: For students pursuing visual arts, business, or accounting career paths as well as demonstrating art appreciation.
Cindy Igo Memorial Scholarship: For students enrolled in the Office Information Technology or Business Management programs.
Don and Ann Fender Scholarship: For students pursuing a health-related field, such as nursing.
Edward K. Daniels Memorial Scholarship: For returning SSCC drama students.
Highland County Fund: For SSCC students residing in Highland County.
Hillcrest Foundation Fund: For those interested in a career in the renewable energy industry or related engineering field.
Joyce Fender Family Scholarship: Single mother pursuing a business major.
Sara M. Barrere Memorial Trust Scholarship: For students who demonstrate how they have exhibited responsibility to self, family, school, and community.
SSCC Trustee Departmental Scholarship: For students enrolled in the following programs: Business, Computer Science and Math, Early Childhood Education, Engineering, Human & Social Services, Nursing, and Performing Arts.
Scholarship amounts are based on full-time enrollment for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. Awards will be prorated if scholarship recipients are enrolled part-time.
