Zoe Phares

My name is Zoe Phares, and I am a first-time senior in the AP class. In my sustained investigation, I asked, “What do we live for?” While I picked this intentionally *very broad* prompt hoping to explore what it means to be human, most of my pieces ended up becoming very personal, as I was inspired by photos from my childhood and the people around me. In the beginning of the year, I experimented with different mediums, including acrylic paint, watercolor paint, graphite, colored pencil, and oil pastel. I enjoyed using all of these mediums, but I have the most fun with oil pastels! Next year, I will be studying engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, but I will continue to take art classes and perhaps minor in studio art.
