Using primarily chipboard and acrylics, I wanted to explore humor and the bizarre in art. For some reason (still a mystery to Mrs. Rodriguez and myself) this took the shape of hairless cats as circus “freaks”. As much as I would like to say I intended it to somehow be a statement against cruel animal treatment in the circus industry, in actuality I believe I simply wanted to push the envelope as much as I could and create a completely strange Sustained Investigation. While I struggled with the idea my concept would not lend itself to a “serious” show, I am ultimately very happy with how everything turned out. After high school I hope to combine science and art somehow to create a future for myself I can be passionate about everyday. Lastly, thank you Mrs. Rodriguez for the last six years of crazy art classes and for telling me to take AP Art almost every day of high school because without you I would definitely not be where I am now.
