Twice a year, Workday releases updates and introduces new features to the system that enhance how we interact with its functionality. Starting with the 2026R1 this month, the MHC community will see a modernized interface in Workday, both on desktop and mobile. This update focuses on a cleaner design intended to make navigating HR and Finance tasks faster and more intuitive.

You will notice the search bar repositioned more centrally on the home page, and the menu of Workday apps will be nested on the left. 

What is changing?

• The home page has been redesigned for a more cohesive look, aiming to reduce the number of clicks needed for frequent tasks.

• The search bar is now the primary entry point on your home page. You will also notice the return of blue links in search results to help distinguish information more easily.

• A new sidebar will be automatically enabled, allowing you to scan and access your most-used apps and pages with one click.

Why make these changes?

The goal of this visual refresh is to help users work more efficiently. While the buttons and menus may look different, the core search functionality and underlying processes remain the same for this release.
