Summit Project
The Summit Project represents a multiyear initiative and commitment by the College to improve the student, faculty and staff experiences by modernizing our technology systems and streamlining the way we do our work.
The Summit Project represents many years of community discussion and feedback. The entire MHC community helped to develop a vision for this work, and the executive sponsors and Project Steering Committee stand behind the guiding principles - both of which continue to drive decision-making as the project progresses.
What is Workday
Workday is an enterprise resource planning software system - an ERP. It's cloud-based, can store much of MHC's data in one place, and many of the business functions we perform daily can be completed all within one system.
Phase 1 of the Summit Project included the implementation of Workday Platform as the College's core system of record. MHC went live with Workday Platform in April 2024. Since then, all HR, Finance and Payroll functionality now happens in Workday.
Phase 2 of the Summit Project includes the implementation of Workday Student. We will begin using Workday for activities that support the student life cycle in spring 2027 - things like viewing course descriptions in the catalog, registering for classes, viewing your tuition bill, and more.
Other Summit work
Though the Workday implementation is a core component of the Summit Project, we are also taking steps to modernize other workflows and systems that impact the student experience.
