Academic advising functions will move from Pathways into Workday Student, an intentional design decision to better serve students and create a more streamlined advising experience. Below, we’ve described which roles and processes will operate in the new system.
Academic coordinators will:
Be able to see profiles for majors within your department.
Have access to academic records for all majors and minors
Can set appointment availability so that any student can self-schedule a meeting
Academic advisors will:
Have access to academic records for their advisees (whether undeclared or declared into a major)
Be able to set up advising appointments
Can clear advisees for registration
Department Chairs will:
Have access to academic record for all majors and minors
Can set appointment availability so that any student can self-schedule a meeting
Approve program of study (major and, where required, minor) declarations/additions
Grant course permissions for major/minor and appropriate college requirements
Moving academic advising functions to Workday Student will create a more efficient and user-friendly experience, such as: .
Workday allows advisors to leave notes for a student during and after an advising appointment to document conversations or decisions made with a student.
Advisors will be able to view a student’s full academic profile and case file all in Workday, eliminating the need to toggle between multiple systems.
Appointment scheduling will now integrate directly with Google calendar.
Processes that currently happen on paper will move into Workday for a more streamlined, digital process.
