Mindset is one of the most significant factors impacting people in so many different ways. Growth mindset is one term that I have wanted to study since I was in high school when I first got in touch with Psychology. Generally speaking, a growth mindset means people have the thought that their capabilities can be developed through dedication and hard work.Â
In my academic journey, I've treated mindset as a tool to regulate my emotions when facing challenges. In the past, especially in math subjects, I often adopted a fixed mindset, likely due to poor grades in related courses before university. However, after discovering the term "growth mindset," I consciously worked on changing my outlook. I would tell myself, "I can do it! I can grasp this concept by attending office hours, reading books, and seeking help from friends! I'll gain understanding through effort!" This approach proved effective; I now feel less anxious when dealing with math and computer science.
For the video in the link below, my reaction was that I think I can do it if I really want to. The painting and the light are so beautiful. The circuit is complicated but I will be supported by my instructors!
