Refunds: Don't Be Shy
The Bottom Line: If you're ever playing in an event that had an entry fee, and you lose a game because of a technical issue, don't hesitate to request a refund. You'll probably get it.
But Why?
Here's an open secret about the people who run Magic Arena: They're understaffed. This means that they are often unable to respond quickly to technical problems, which could result in an undeserved game loss for you.
This might mean you got disconnected and couldn't log back in on time, or it could mean the Autotapper gave you a bad tap, or maybe a card isn't working the way it's supposed to.
Whatever the problem, if this happens to you, request a refund.
To do this, go to the Options screen, and at the bottom right you'll see "Report a Bug." Click that, then click Capture Log, and then click Contact Support.
In the pulldown menu, choose the item most applicable to you (it's probably either 'Report a problem in your event" or "Report a bug"), and fill in the very short form. Chances are good that you'll receive a refund within a day, no questions asked, as long as you haven't been flagged as an abuser of the system.
Don't be a jerk about it. You shouldn't request a refund because you're salty at your opponent's luck or because you're mad about the shuffler. Honesty is the best policy, because if too many people start falsely asking for their gems back, the refunds might become harder to come by for legitimate issues.
