All task sheets follow a set template. Please access the link below, and 'Make a Copy' of the template, then save the task sheet in the appropriate folder in the shared drive.
All units have a Google Slide, which contain explicit learning material, classroom activities and assessment task details. Further information can be provided for teachers in the 'notes' section. Save the Google Slide into the appropriate shared drive folder. We often use 'Slides Carnival' or 'Slides Go' for aesthetic templates.
Google Slides are often a digital 'work book' where students will 'Make a Copy' of the presentation, and type directly into it. Students then upload the link to their Google Slide into DayMap. You will also provide a link to DayMap (we no longer use PowerPoint/ Word Docs- having live links means that the document is always the most updated version)
If you intend to change the Google Slide in any way, or want to type directly into it whilst teaching, please make a copy and save into your personal drive, otherwise you are overriding the original.
Examples of Google Slides
Every unit has a bank of Tier 2 and Tier 3 words that students are explicitly taught, and will be expected to use in their final assessment.
Research suggests students need 17 meaningful exposures to vocabulary in order to understand and use vocabulary in context, therefore, we need to provide these opportunities to students.
Word banks are to be included on the Task Sheet and Google Slide and should be displayed in the classroom where possible.
The links below include a template to make laminated vocab cards for the vocabulary list (make a copy, and save in the shared folder) We aim to engage in one ten minute vocab game/ activity per lesson, using the laminated vocab cards.
*Laminated vocab lists are stored in the N Area Office- check that lists haven't already been created before you begin
