If you plan for further education Researched schools.
Talk to the career specialist or high school counselor and receive a “To Do” list for this year.
If you plan to go directly into the workforce:
Know the skills required for the work I’m seeking.
·Completed a RESUME that highlights those skills.
Checked to see if I qualify for an Apprenticeship program.
Know who the top employers are for the type of work I’m seeking.
Know where to go after I graduate for job placement services.
Know where to go for further training if I choose.
Researched potential wage and job availability for this career.
Talked to the college about where graduates of my program are finding job placements.
Know all pre-requisite courses and where to take them.
Checked to see if any of the College in the High School courses offered at MBHS are needed for my program.
Toured the college and program I’m applying to.
Applied to the college.
Made an appointment to meet with a college admissions advisor.
Scheduled an assessment test OR received alternative course placement.
Researched scholarship information from the college website.
Checked for other scholarship opportunities.
Filled out the FAFSA form and any other college financial aid paperwork.
Researched colleges.

If you plan to attend an Academy or ROTC program students should have:
SAT or ACT test scores.
Researched Academies and colleges with ROTC programs.
Sent away for application packets.
Applied to schools by deadline.
**There are many steps to completing an application to an Academy or ROTC program. Please make sure that you have met with your counselor and have ALL of the required information.
If you plan to enter the military as Enlisted Personnel:
Researched military occupations.
Met with recruiters.
Scheduled to take the ASVAB test.
Researched occupations.
Taking high school classes that can give me necessary job skills.
Know the skills required for the work I’m seeking.

Understand the difference between Living Wage and Minimum Wag jobs.
Know who the top employers are for the type of work I’m seeking.
Have three people other than relatives who can write letters of recommendation for me.
