If you and your parents need financial assistance for you to attend the college or university of your choice, there may be several ways for you to receive assistance. Financial aid comes in the form of grants, scholarships, work study and student loans. To be eligible for Financial Aid you will need to complete a Financial Aid application. Think of the Financial Aid application as your key to funding resources for college!
To apply for Financial Aid, you will need to complete a Financial Aid application. Typically students will fill out a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to see if they qualify for grants, work study and loans listed above.
The WASFA (Washington Application for State Financial Aid) is an alternative option in Washington State for students who are ineligible for FAFSA filing due to immigration status.
You only apply for one application! Review the information below on which application you should complete.
If you are a US citizen (or eligible non-US citizen) you will be applying for the FAFSA.

There are various reasons to complete a Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA) instead of a FAFSA:

Undocumented parents or family members do not wish to file a FAFSA
If you are unsure if you should complete a FAFSA or a WASFA, complete the WASFA Eligibility Questionnaire.
